Lead position...? As far as I know Ben's just a member of the rendering team, has he indicated before that he's a team lead or similar? Apologies if I've missed that...Not to mention that it's not about other people's experience because no two companies, teams, or projects are alike - it never was. It's about the ludicrousness of someone in a lead position, not knowing if a module is enabled in a build or not. That's the long and short of it. You all can try to theory-craft it away until you're Blue in the face, it still won't make one lick of sense, or any less ridiculous. Like the Star Citizen project itself.
But, as we've established (over several pages by now), he's probably not allowed to do that for contractual reasons - at least, it would probably not be a wise idea for him to do so. I completely agree that the silence from CIG proper is a bit deafening - if SM is in the avocado release I'd expect them to have crowed about it by now, for sure.If he could, in one single post, Ben can confirm or deny if in fact SM is enabled for play in the 2.6 Evocati (not their internal build). And I would be proven 100% wrong because it's NOT the sort of thing that he would flat-out lie about.
At times, the feeling is distinctly mutual. You guys are hilarious. Please don't change, or things will get very boring very quickly.
Earl Grey. Hot.So.... shall I put the kettle on and we can have a nice cup of tea?

OK, looks like Goons have figured out the "source" of the GIF video being bandied around as "proof" that SM is enabled in the 2.6 Evocati build of 48hrs ago.
Original video:

ATV stream where it was captured/exported from:
https://youtu.be/3rcWkqliP6A
NOTE: Someone said that the Black bar at the top (in the GIF) is the ATV logo; though it may be the client score/count or something.
The End.
ps: A Goon has pointed out that the GIF is not from ATV

But appears to be from the previously leaked single-player SM build

Taken from that same "evocati leaks" link:

Note that i'm not the author of the gif image, and i don't have access to PTU or Evocati builds.
Maybe you should read my posts here? Or is that somehow too easy?
The GIF is fake. SM is NOT released in 2.6. Like at all. And anyone who can even get the hack (posted previously) to work, won't be able to connect to a live instance.

So the gif has the same unfinished HUD (no red background for the name of other team) as single player SM map, but shows multiple contacts on the radar. Either it's from multiplayer SM available to avocados or the gif originates from CIG's internal build.

This is stupid. Can't CIG just say yes it's in or no its not. It's making them look even more of a blunder than they already are.

As said before, we have made a claim and posted proof of it. You have made an opposite claim but didn't post any proof of it. It's your turn to post proof.
I just don't get why Star Marine is so important anymore. IIRC, the point of modules like Arena Commander was to progress major deliverables before a combined play area could support them. CR himself has said that the functionality of SM that is requisite for FPS play in the PU is already in the PU. Why would FPS be iterated in this separate module when it could just be iterated in the PU?
SM was relevant BEFORE FPS was playable "seamlessly" with flying ships. Now that they smash together in the PU what about SM is supposed to inform or excite me?
The SM debacle is just another part of the fiasco. The module was already deprecated over a year ago. Now imagine you're a dev working on such a module, which now needs to be brought back because it's the only tangible release for the year, seeing as SC and SQ42 were already a bust. Now you have to make that old code, work with the new code. This is where we are. There is no plausible reason for SM to be brought back, even after croberts himself went on the record saying that it was already in the PU.
So, this WHOLE year, with SC and SQ42 a bust, SM is the only thing they've got that shows any sort of tangible "progress"
So basically, 400 people with over $130+ million couldn't produce a stand-alone fps module using an engine built for an fps. Yeah.
Well, now that you've been banned (I only found out on /r/ds), it doesn't matter. You posted a GIF video that has now proven to be false claims of SM being enabled in the 2.6 Evocati build pushed about 48hrs ago. You didn't provide proof of authenticity, even though the onus is on you. Instead, you keep asking people to prove a negative.
