Considering the amount of limb mangling, spontaneous ejection, spaghettification, and random exploding that seems to be connected with trying to fly ships in SC, an emergency button that stops the ship from… well… anything, really, seems like a fairly sensible safety feature.

I was just going to post this and ask you all to stop quoting the SC FanBois because I have their hysteria (aka lulzhysteria) on ignore... with the exception of Rolan because he posts nice interesting stuff.
The others just argue and argue incessantly about the tiniest, silliest little things. I keep asking myself why do they bother? What do they get out of it? Do they get a cut of the $130 million? Have they heavily invested in grey market ships? Do they get free lulz to mop in-game?
If I was a moderator on these forums (and be glad I'm not!) and would ban them for spamming.

It's a pretty emphatic STOP, so I think someone's been telling Janet to wise up.
Star Citizen: buckets of cash, hundreds of devs and 5 years.
Angels Fall First: 7 years, no funding with a handful of devs, working on it part time for a couple of hours a day and while holding down day jobs.
AFF does a lot of what SC promised and the clanger is it is actually fun. Even in the very early alpha stages it was really really fun.
Star Citizen is a painfully dull alpha. The devs are so clueless on how to deliver fun that they make you go through a long boring ritual just to test the FPS combat and to top off the frustration you might get shot down on the way there. Instead of providing us with easy access to all the tools of death and simple teams with decent spawn locations. Maybe a simple attack and defend scenario that you could knock up in the Arma editor complete with cut scenes in 10 mins. They had an opportunity to shine with the PTU.
They gave us a spawn area and star port. A few space stations with no stream lined way to play it and really get to grips with it. You can't just respawn and get back in the action. You lose momentum by the time you have respawned and returned. Why the bother of Star Marine when a few simple additions to the PTU would render SM unnecessary?

I suppose they're not placeholders for themselves, but they definitely are for the thing they depict. So there's some very curious identity problem going on there. [hehe]
Take it in stride. You are of the most level-headed folks in here. I've noted your honest assessment of the game and that includes occasional disappointment. Opinion doesn't make a fanboi.
