Okay, I saw you mention the depth of Elite and then in the same paragraph bring up the mission system for a single player game as though there might be some comparison to be made.
Ah, it's entirely possible that I was vague in my explanation.

I agree with this 100%. I do not have S.C. but the more they hype it and hold back I just know that I already would've seen everything before I even load it up!

Ah, noticed an issue with that walking on the icy planet.

At 9:09 - 9:10 - he runs through a large rock, no bumping, no going over. Would indicate those rocks either don't have collision detection turned on or are just textures, not models.
True, but they have filed taxes, made their quarterly reports and no alarm has been heard from the responsible accounting firm.
And if im not entirely incorrect their reports are more or less publicly available, just not down to individual notes, contracts and invoices.
No, CIG is not a public company so those reports are not available AND an audit there would at most be reporting any oddities if the IRS requested it.
But In the USA, the external auditor also performs reviews of financial statements and compilation. In review auditors are generally required to tick and tie numbers to general ledger and make inquiries of management. In compilation auditors are required to take a look at financial statement to make sure they are free of obvious misstatements and errors. An external auditor may perform a full-scope financial statement audit, a balance-sheet-only audit, an attestation of internal controls over financial reporting, or other agreed-upon external audit procedures.
So yes, of course there could be shady accounting in a company, in ANY company but those are some VERY serious accusations and would require at least SOME proof to even require an investigation.
Their position is similar to a risk investment company with the exception that backers are not investors and there are no contracts that gives us full insight in their management.
At the same time, there is no guarantee in a regular risk investment that a project will succeed OR that a private investor have ANY say in the workings of said company EDIT: Unless of course they could PROVE criminal intent and perhaps fraud.
As for the public report in case of F42 that's UK law and I have found little in my brief search in who they are beholden to.
I know more about this than you who just continues to make stuff up as you go along.
It's actually not the most crowdfunded project currently.

I was surprised too tbh.![]()
So you are saying you don't have other peoples money in it.
Im married so I have my wife's money in my wallet.

I really don't agree with this, this video is another praise of something we haven't seen yet, and the critics are really not valid because no one really know how the game play will be.
It's all projected from promo videos and explanations of how they believe it will be.
He did make one good observation, that the Citizencon demo would be boring to actually play. That's because it's not part of a real game made for the specific purpose of providing player entertainment. It's made as a non-playable experience for Chris Roberts to demonstrate on stage (to the considerable hard work and exhaustion of CIG's valuable resources).
Chris Roberts has put together a large, well funded company that specialises in making him mini games to show off on stage. It always feels like they shy away from putting together something that would actually scale as a multi-player game or work on consumer hardware. Everything is made out of disconnected demo-ware, Arena Commander, Racing Module, Star Marine, Walk around the shops simulator the PU (itself a small collection of scripted find the button and push it missions).
We're just sitting here waiting for the inevitable conclusion that if 3.0 does materialise, it won't be what was in that demo. My guess is it won't have an entire planet, it'll be a very small "high fidelity" area with boundaries and compromise and a good few years of "imagine this but bigger" - because that's all you need now to bring in the cash from PC gamers.
lol Jezzah, yeah, I had to read this a couple of times to I think interpret correctly. It is meant that whatever and however that money got into your wallet, it's the wife's money to do as she pleases with :=) So yeah, it's the same as in your household by the sound! What's the secret? Bloody other way round in my house.
