YYet again, for the umpteenth time they've cut major features from a release they toted as the one that'd change everything, from a release they again mis-sold with bullshots and half truths... and even then it's still five months late anyway. Is that not enough? Are we jumping the gun? When exactly do we get to stop waiting and seeing?

According to the latest newsletter 3.0 is far beyond what they ever promised to deliver, thanks to the continued efforts of those altruistic whales who should be applauded for their commitment rather than mocked, and so you should be grateful even when it's late and stripped to the absolute minimum of MVPs. But then he also has the balls to describe the development of planetary tech as "rapid", before diving head first into thinly-veiled begging.

Nothing to be concerned about - this is all part of normal development. You'd be a fool to consider otherwise, and paint your non-gaming credentials for all the internet to see!

Genuine Roberts hasn't invented begging yet.

"Give us money. We don't need the money. You guys are great. Give money if you want to see the game finished like we promised. No, we don't need your money. But if you want what you expected, then give money.

PS: Its all your fault its taking so long because you kept giving us money"

Sneaky suspicion and I'm often wrong, but they might have run out of money?
Time to sell the door and the wife's handbags, then!

"Roberts said. "Ultimately that means I can make the same game for a fifth of the revenue, a fifth of the sales, and I can be more profitable, and I can exist on lower unit sales. I think that's good for gamers, because crowdfunding and digital distribution are enabling more nichey stuff to be viable."

How's that working out for you Chris?

Noone would have believed in the earlyish years of the twentyfirst century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own, that as men busied themselves about their various community goals they were scrutinised and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a Vision might scrutinise the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a plethora of Space Games.

With infinite complacency Space Gamers went to and fro over this little globe about their little affairs, serene in their assurance of their empire over their wallets. It is possible that the infusoria being told what to do in guilds do the same. Noone gave a thought to the older Space Games as sources of human danger, or thought of them only to dismiss the idea of cheese wedges being fun to fly as impossible or improbable. It is curious to recall some of the mental habits of those departed days. At most Space Game men fancied there might be other men in Space Games, perhaps not as Git Gud as themselves and ready to welcome a missionary enterprise. Yet across the gulf of Fidelity, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that play P2W tablet games, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded Space Gamers with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their Vision against us.

And a little later came the great disillusionment.

Tons of Vrep. [up]

I heard that in the voice of Peter Griffin.

I hear everything in the voice of Peter Griffin.

It may be taking longer than we all wanted, but the game itself has become so much more. And while there are some who say they want a less ambitious game, I am skeptical... I am 100% confident that one of the reasons why we have raised so much money is because we dreamed big. When we debuted the “Imagine” trailer back in Dec 2014, it was a dream of the future, but now with your support we are on the cusp of realizing that dream far more literally than anyone could have imagined.

Hilarious. What a cretin.

The best post on this forum. Possibly all the forums.
