Google is the best friend for someone claiming to show evidence. Instead of waiting for an answer from someone they are going to attempt to discredit regardless of the source they could see for themselves to what it is you are referring in less than 0.02383 seconds from a search.

With all the information at the fingertips I'm amazing people still demand to see a source when they choose not to believe something.

Well, they probably expect a copy of the paycheck, verified by el presidente. As I said, its there, in the public records.

its verifiable, just look it up in the public records, I don't need to publish it here, if you don't care that is your choice.

Well perhaps it's the query that I'm using or my google fu sucks but I couldn't find any references to CIG obtaining a loan and I found glass door reviews, none of them comment about cashing out large salaries, or the really long pastebin of Beer4TheBeerGod correspondences with CIG. If you are referencing The Escapist article, it was never proven that their claims were substantiated.

There are those who has invested thousands into this game. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't feel the way you're describing.

I've "invested" thousands myself so I must be the exception to this rule :)

Sounds like Turkeys voting for Christmas Bri.

Winsome Losesome is Leatherface (cover of Snuff), get some blood pumping in that decrepit heart.

How much are you In? Or everyone else here for that matter, now you got me curious.

Still a few pages back...thought I'd toss mine in on this.

$95 USD:

$45 to Aurora MR Package - Feb 2015
$10 to upgrade to LN - Dec 2015
$40 for Mustang Beta - Dec 2015

I don't intend to pursue any refund but am highly skeptical of the running of the project and its direction. The money is considered gone to me, written off as part of last year's expenses so I feel no strong urge to get that money back unless the project is actually canned with no production release.

As to the profit discussion earlier, I just want to add...it is difficult to determine profit before the cost of the product is finalized. Profit should only be what you earn above and beyond the cost of developing the product (ignoring ongoing operating expenses). Therefore, there is no profit if there is yet no cap on the cost.

Pretty similar to Monk...

~£64 total:

~£25, Aurora MR package - Feb 2014
£39, Avenger LTI package - Nov 2015

I don't think it'd be worth my time to try and get a refund if I wanted to; by the time I got the Avenger it was very much with a mindset of "in the unlikely event this train-wreck actually does one day result in something worth playing for a decent length of time, I'd like to have an LTI ship available." :p

Yes it's my opinion that the game is so broken they can't even make a fan spin correctly

Thousands of assets exist in SC, and people are yelling "SEE??? FAIL!" because a minor textured polygon in an Alpha build is rotating on the wrong axis.

In Elite 2.1, you can find yourself flying through a planet during interdiction.
On rare occasions, you can respawn inside the negative space in a station with the normals reversed.
And doesn't the Conda's lower gun shoot THROUGH the cargo scoop when deployed?

One is in fraking Alpha, the other is a "released" game. Which situation sounds more broken?

It's an exhaust fan that was assigned the wrong axis (or perhaps had a problem with gimbal lock). It's a scene prop.

Get some perspective.

or stop ships launching off into space with the slightest nudge. It's just my opinion...

How much working knowledge and experience do you have in constructing object physics in a 3D simulation? Actual time spent DOING it, not "what you read about the physics engine on Reddit?"

I've done it professionally. Have you?

If your answer is "That's what I do for a living", then your opinion holds some worth. If you answer is "none", then ... not so much.

Hi

I just logged in for a butchers and i noticed i have

27,000 UEC which i presume is the in game currency.

however I also have

5000 REC as well.

what is the difference in currency? I am fairly certain there is not free to play "golden currency" (god i hope not any how) but if not can anyone tell me the difference in the 2 things please?

taa

Correct me if I'm wrong but UEC is for use in the PTU at shops and what not. Guns, clothes, armor...etc...not sure about ships though

REC is from playing Arena Commander and allows you to rent ships, which I think you can fly in the PTU while the rental is active.

REC is what could be earned in AC to allow you to rent ships? aUEC is the alpha currency for testing persistence (shopping)... I am a bit hazy on the detail so I will bow to those more knowledgeable. edit: ninja'ed by Monk :)

My answer isn't that I'm a lead programmer on massively commercial games. My history of development is irrelevant to this but I can tell you that the engine adaptation of the game is f**cked, I mean irretrievably broken, absolutely w*nkered beyond repair.

I think "edge cases" is something worth pursuing here, the engine can't handle the general intention of the player so it will be have to be hand written in every case, good luck with that.

Almost. UEC is supposed to be a currency in a finished game, and right now is impossible to spend. aUEC is earned in the PTU, but both of those currencies are separate for now. Ships can be bought with real cash or rented through REC, but I think they are limited to those available in Arena Commander, so no Starfarers for those who didn't shell out for them.

As much as CIG's programmers, apparently. You don't have to be a certified doctor to notice someone's leg is broken, then why you have to work in software development to be able to say the game is a buggy piece of crap?

There are three currencies but only one that really matters. You have REC which is acquired through subscribing or playing Arena Commander. This "currency" is for renting ships and equipment. aUEC is the currency for the mini-PU (aka Universe); you can use it to buy clothes and small arms (ships, ship equipment and ship weapons will come later). Finally there is UEC which is the "real" currency in the game; this is what you will be using once persistent universe is released.

Wow, I wish all the best to you mate.

Thanks! :)

I know that this game still has the potential of not releasing but from all the fun I've had in the game to the awesome people I have met/interacted with, no one can put a price tag on that. This is why I don't care if I get my money back; it's not only the game but the experiences that come from it.

That's impressive man, this is a real visceral experience for you. Can I ask how old you are? What you do for a living? What other hobbies you enjoy? Are you married? Have a g/f? Honestly I simply cannot fathom what it would be like to have the SC experience be so much so that you liken it to a real world experience that warrants the complete write off of thousands of your dollars.

What do you DO for a living? Did you inherit a large sum of money or have you worked hard for it?

You don't have to answer, but these will all be answers that I can better understand your perspective.

Sure, 32; I works as a systems administrator; I enjoy astronomy, gaming, martial arts, Yoga, learning about history, science, languages, coding, game development...,etc; nope, not married or have a g/f but I'm also not looking for one either; I didn't inherit any large sum of money but I do have a lot of disposable income because I have very few bills, live within my means and am pretty thrifty.

Also this is all within a ~4 year span.

That's true - you don't have to be a doctor to notice a broken leg. But that's not what's happening here.

Here, people are observing surgery. The patient is cut open, there's blood everywhere, and people that aren't even doctors are yelling "Look at all the blood! They're killing the patient! This surgeon has no idea what he's doing!"

You are correct: SC is buggy. That's why it's called a fraking ALPHA.
