What, how did they manage to decouple santaball - arguably the most interesting bit from Ender's Game err, I mean Star Marine?

I actually responded to this a few pages back. Star Citizen won no awards for their Gamescom Demo. I listed the awards - lots of them, for many developers. Star Citizen and CiG were not listed at all. They were barely spoken about by the mainstream gaming media.

Those companies Tippis listed? They regularly get awards at gaming shows - and their titles get many awards. Perhaps not CCP, but certainly the others.

If the demo is as good as you believe it is - why is nobody lauding and awarding it?

The Gamescom Demo wasn't shown at Gamescom premises. It was a showcase in a private party for the backers, not for "Gamescom Judges" lol

They paid someone to make Star marine - with santaball - and now it will "come later".

ETA - I mean they actually showed it working - wait - were they telling porkies again - those cheeky scamps!

This is very interesting.

It's interesting that the community manager lied about the cost of that space door too. Maybe that's just what he was told, but it's clear someone was lying through their teeth, because that's no garage door opener.

Man do you just like to find the negative in every single thing? who cares if they didn't get any awards. A lot of bad games get awards, from Aliens colonies to Evolve and many others. You know how those turned out?

Seriously though, it says at the top of the screen, Discussion of SC only. If a good portion of the people discussing it are very sceptical or critical of it, then that's the course the thread takes so you've no grounds to complain that people are rightly quite annoyed or just outright laughing at it. I've not seen any actual bashing on here, just reasonable questioning of anything and everything to do with SC which obviously isn't agreeable to you and you feel the need to defend it at all costs.

If everyone who questioned SC was to go to the SA forums then there would be 3 or 4 people left here, you included, then you have your echo chamber/group therapy of nothing but positive thoughts that do not in any way shape or form help CIG make anything. I don't know about you but the worst thing in the world to me is a room full of 'yes men' constantly licking the boots of whoever they are currently worshipping.

The reason the ones who agree with you don't post often is the same here as it generally is for every forum with a less than applauding audience to SC, most are people who spend all day 'upvoting' positive posts and 'downvoting' negative ones, regardless of actual content because all they see is the good word being spread and they are totally blinkered to what actually constitutes good progression within a project. Basically, shills love shills.

Point of order pedantry: wherefore = why. It has the same structure as the German “warum” (war + um; where + about) or Swedish “varför” (var + för; where + front), all of which somehow combine to mean “why”. :D
