Are you sure? Every so often the USofA gives me the impression of wanting to make up for being late to the last two world wars by being the first
"in there" for the next.
Edit:
I can't be sure. It's an inference from incomplete info. I'm suggesting it because it seems plausible, but mostly because I want to see what the international opinions are.
There are some incisive people here who play Elite. Often, they educate me.
But take a look at this:
It is humiliating for the world’s greatest superpower to disregard its president as a weird old man who wanders in front of microphones spouting off unpredictably and without consequence. But at this point, respect for Trump’s capabilities is a horse that’s already fled the barn. New chief of staff John Kelly has supposedly instilled military-style order and message discipline into the administration, but Trump is unteachable. Minimizing the havoc means getting everybody to pretend Trump isn’t really president.
It's taken from this article:
Ignore Our Crazy President, U.S. Government Tells North Korea
Maybe nobody has the complete picture, not even the intel services in the relevant countries.
And I'm just a third-party member of the public.
But the actual result of that leak so far hasn't been for ships and troops and guns to move.
At least not according to my unofficial sources in the US armed forces, who have not been deployed, or in the Press, but it could be secret.
( That would be bad, because it wouldn't be a bluff. The Boomer subs couldn't be seen, so Trump made sure to talk about them before : QED= Bluff)
It's been Public Opinion that's shifted, from a leak made on purpose.
QED = political attack on the POTUS
In any case, I'm turning down my own anxiety over the prospect of war.
So has the US stock market.
