The Ultimate, Essential Bird Meta-Wishlist (Habitat AND Aviary)

List has been updated!

Some pretty big changes this time. My beloved ducks have been topped!! 😭😭😭The owls are not what they seem...

Interestingly, now 3 of the Top 5 species are all birds of prey. To celebrate the rise of raptors, weekly community poll, name your favorite:
  • Owl
  • Eagle
  • Vulture

For me, eagle is Bald because I am AMERICAN.
Owls are an indiscernible tie between Snowy and Great Horned.
And show me King for Vulture.
What about you???
Do they have to be from that image?

-For owls it would have to be Lapland Owl. It has such mystical and poetic appearance. On top of it, in Europe it only lives in Finland and Russia which, for a guy that lives far away from both countires, also adds to that mythical aura.

Honorable mention would be Eurasian Scops Owl, if nothing for their call. They're found all over Mediterranean, and there was bunch of them in place I grew up in. So hearing the call on YT really takes me back, and sometimes even helps me fall asleep

-Speaking of Eagles it's Steller's Sea Eagle without competition. It's just looks so cool, nothing more to it. First time I saw one in the zoo I couldn't believe I was looking at the real animal. The size, colors - Majestic!

-Bearded Vulture takes the final spot. It sticks out so much when compared to the other European Raptors. Remote habitat will always bring bonus points with me. We used to have them in our mountains, but just like Eurasian Lynx we made them go extinct 😔 From back then local legends remain of how they would hunt Chamois by scaring them off steep cliffs with their wings.

Fun fact that might not be true: Despite the aforementioned legend, some zoos apparently display them together with Marmots in Alpine mixed habitats to drive home the point that they won't hunt live prey.

I love so much birds of prey (not more than parrots), but i cannot choose bewteen this 3. I can name some species that i need in the game.

Firstly, and my favourite bird of prey, is the Harpy Eagle. Gosh, it has an imponent aura that scares me, is like a legendary creature, such a powerful and beautiful animal!

Next we have the Californian Condor. It reminds me too much to an argentavis, is like it's live parient. Also, it's conservation value thanks of the zoo efforts is enough for me to have it in the game.

This is the Bengal eagle-owl. I bet you haven't heard this name always. Is a very beautiful species of owl from India, just a giant and gorgeous animal!

From the falcons family, i would love to see the Harris Hawk. It's has very elegant and killer vibes around it, such a cool choice!

As a Spanish fellow, i feel in the necessity to name these 3 species: The Imperial Spanish Eagle, the Bearded Vulture and the Eurasian Griffon Vulture.
This 3 fellas represent my country with all of their presence! Specially the bearded vulture. It looks like a jurassic predator, it looks too unique to leave it out from the game!

Also a very unique one... the Crested Caracara. It's like magical, like the representation of speed, such a magnificent species!

Sadly feeling that it's time to give up on Exhibit birds - Macaws, Toucans, Eagles and the like. And thus the "more habitat birds" becomes my second priority now. Whereas Exhibit birds were my #1 priority that goes now to a non-bird.

HAPPY ANNOUNCEMENT DAY EVERYONE!

This is a day that shall be long remembered: for the first time, not one, but TWO birds have been added to Planet Zoo in a DLC!

I know few are upset about the continuous lack of flighted birds, but chin up! The fact that Frontier is giving us more avian friends, flightless or otherwise, is a good thing. And I can't help but feel cautiously optimistic we may be getting more birds in the future.

I'm not sure if this list had anything to do with the decision, but let's keep the party going!

With the addition of the North Island Brown Kiwi and Little Blue Penguin, it's time for an update!

If you voted for either bird, or "any" of the penguin and kiwi slot, you can vote for new replacements!!!

You MUST quote your original wishlist and indicate which one or two birds you want, depending on your original list.

Happy Wishing!!!
