Does it teach you anything? No.
.

Oh it does. It teaches you to read mission briefs carefully and check where you need to fly the cargo to. Because once you've been there, any mission which says "deliver to hutton orbital" is a big nope. It also teaches you comething about the scale of the game and the size of space.

also how does one get to write a Galnet article?

I know the size of the galaxy more than the average player and I honestly think people can understand how long it takes to get there by reading about it which I did. In short, I know both of these and have never been (and will) go to Hutton.

For me, going to Hutton is out of the question. There is nothing for me there...

Basically, it's not that I find the Hyper-jump and Fuel-Scoop mechanic to be that enjoyable, so I don't feel like doing it repeatedly for, literally, thousands of times until I get there...

I may be missing the point, but I've still a lot to do in the buble, I'm not that bored yet!!

Oh there's no jumping or scooping required (well, not much), going to Hutton is WAY more boring than that! :p

you're missing out

Please elaborate.

It's not quite as thrilling as doing it for real but you could always just watch a video of it I suppose? :p;)[where is it][haha]

And here's a video of actually collecting the free Anaconda ...

You can try full speed dropping from planetary orbit SC to the surface base, skipping gliding phase. Personal record - dropped 14.2 km from the base.

I have tried to break the record on Khun. In a full Cutter. Twice. Tried.

Play chicken with the core of a black hole.

Get a Python wedged into the side areas around a Coriolis port.

Pirate a CMDR and forget a cargo rack.

G5 + Prismatics + Performance Thrusters a Sidewinder.

I don’t know if this is still possible.
Fly into a Coriolis station from the rear, barge through the gaps in the superstructure as you are being thrown around. Then fly into the rear of the station.
I managed to do it in the early days but I think the geometry has been changed.

Fly down the Ariel canyons (Sol system)
