This is making Trading Impossible

ahaaa yeah i understand ;)

Conda is great for trading, i dont have to worry as long as its just NPC's. if its going sideways, i can always get out :)

You can try running something like my hybrid-vette. It's built to deal with large ships interdicting it (where it outturns the conda and the python, even with D thrusters)
Anything smaller (and hence more annoying) it's

Considered getting a bigger shield generator for more buffer, but didn't really need it so far .. and mah precious cargo!

Maybe i misunderstanding you now, with D thrusters fittet, it outturns conda and python. I sort of thought this "Vette" was flying more like a T9
One more uppranking and i got one myself, it gonna take some time, cuz im lazy and busy, haha :p

Gone are the days of flying with subpar or no shields. Tonight I had a 20 minute fight with a single Eagle npc which was master rank, I was flying a Cobra MKIV, I had trouble keeping up with the turn rate of the Eagle npc and its the first time I spent an entire fight with 4 pips to systems and half in engines and half in weapons to allow my boosters and weapons to recharge as I tried to get a bead on the Eagle.

With a combination of FA off and on with boosters to help my turn rate I managed to kill it. This new AI is sorting the chaff from the wheat in terms of who is actually Elite or not. Man up or delete the save game and start over.

Keeping a bead on an Eagle has always been difficult in a Cobra IV - nothing new to see there. It's a block of depleted uranium with boosters. It handles like a planet with an eating disorder. It has two speeds - slow and less slow. Its original docking computer music was a mocking tuba. If you want to be wheaty chaff (or something), drop the Mk IV and get a ship which can move. I say this having spent great amounts of time in the Mk IV. It took my heart and broke it, and we drifted apart (very slowly) but I love it still. I still hold out hope one day a balance pass will wash over it and leave it sparkling and new. Until then leave it alone - it will get you killed at the drop of a hat. It used to do that before 2.1, so beware! [woah]

1) He wasn't trying to fight, he damaged the ship in the first encounter, the other 3 encounters he was trying to escape.

2) Cmdr's in large ships are better off focusing on fuel management (not clicking refuel all on every dock) That saves a lot more weight than skimping on boosters. A few boosters give a miniscule impact on jump range.

3) Mass lock is irrelevant, jumping to another system bypasses the mass inhibition and prevents the NPC from following you. In certain cases an NPC will re-spawn in the next system, they are bounty hunters sent to find you.

Back in 1.3 the FDL couldn't mass lock the Python, no idea if that changed.

i was in my python for that 9 interdictions in a row malarky, the crazy npc stalking me was in an fdl.. he never managed to mass lock me, so i assume that is still the case.

2) IIRC, don't the best boosters weigh 3.5t each? I don't use them really, but last I remember they did. That's a lot of weight for some ships and can make the difference between 2 jumps and 3... and in trading that's a big deal.

Well for big trade ships 3.5 tons or so, is not much.

Not only do i fill up on boosters, i will bring prismatic shields with that.

I have had no death to NPC´s or by boosting into station walls since i took on that setup.

And i have plenty of trade rutes i can do with one jump.

Il gladly add more weight if it will make me able to shoot the pirate down as well.

PS. if needed, i can compensate the added weight by modding the FSD.

Pip management all the way, i recommend moving the keys to a joystick hat if possible. much better reaction time that way.

I can't even stick to mining in the same system and supercruising to sell the ore I've mined without getting interdicted and ganked by something 10x more powerful.

I've been trading in a A/D rated Anaconda (A thrusters and FSD, biweave ). I get interdicted about once each run by an elite FAS.

Submit-boost-supercruise still works, but I tend to be interdicted again by the same ship.

I've found fighting back (with turreted pulses) works OK. Security tend to show about the time my shields drop and distract the enemy ship enough that I only take a non-threatening amount of hull damage (reinforced hull).

This ship is set for max cargo capacity, and I haven't got a good power plant or weapons due to cost. There are many more survivable builds if you have the cash.

I've done about 20x$1.2 million runs since the upgrade, being interdicted most times (I do trade missions at the same time, and still have a power play power), but haven't been in danger of losing the ship, even with most enemies being elite.

TLDR : Trading is not impossible after the patch. I'm still doing it while watching TV, even with elite NPC interdiction

i would try to change system.
Was trying some mining in Atins, mining for Painite (not in RES ofc). Some low level NPC usually attacked when i came in but after that i was left alone, i jumped to next system to sell for a better price. Did this a few times. After about a day i decided that mining is useless :)
