Modes Three Hours in Open

Depends where you are. All my ships are at Founders World because of outfitting options. I wouldn't last half an hour there in open. But I hope new C&P system will change that. We'll see.

You flying the federal ships and cant last 30min in open?
I think Alliance fits you more.

Good point!
Moved it too.
Wait, it's not in the PvP section for once?

Another 'it's great in open' thread. Whatever. Glad you had a good time.

I also live at Founders World, like another poster earlier, and I wouldn't last 5 minutes if I were to play in open. But I get interactions like you describe all the time when playing Mobius.

So what's so great about open again? ;)

I'll see myself out... :D

I play open everyday and I rarely get attacked by any players. I don't know why people complain that open is dangerous because it's not

Open is a roll of the dice. In Beta going to Ward I've done hours both in Open and Mobius PVE seeing lots of CMDRs. No one shot at me and I had lots of conversations in Mobius (no PvP allowed). The next player to come along in Open might get blown away. Doesn't bother me in Beta since nothing applies to our normal accounts.

Need to get something out of my system, pay no attention, move along, nothing to see here.

Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we don't need a reason
The golden goose is on the loose
And never out of season
Some blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death.

The killer's breed or the demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain,
But don't you pray for my soul anymore.
3 hours in Open
The hands that threaten doom.
3 hours in Open
To kill the unborn in the womb.

Can't give you Rep right now so here's 10000 lbs of Cubeo Bacon ^,^

That's awesome. Glad more people are playing in open. I've never understood what people's big deal is with playing in open. Been a player and forum dweller for a long time and have tried to relate to everything I've read against playing in open but couldn't. I've got ganked and grieved multiple times and still couldn't fathom playing an open space game without the chance of seeing another human whether I actually do or not. Been to CGs and when I was complacent and not paying attention got ganked but on the other hand EVERY populated area I've been to including Founders World and CGs still had (98% of the time) friendly players and added substance and life to the game, not to mention I dont think I ever woulda learned high wake and the basics of pvp combat (evasion) if I never woulda been PVPd so if anything, it knocked me out of the comfortable (if not dull) bubble I was in when I first started playing. I actually believe it's more "immersive" knowing there's people out there that can fly better and have better equipment than myself and feels more realistic of a space combat/trading sim knowing there's a constant possibility of something bad happening. However, I wouldn't have learned a lot of things in ED if I would have played in solo this whole time (approx 1,180hrs Xbox, PS4, PC combined). Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and play style and this is just my two cents but it's pretty cool to see a o7 once in awhile after hours of grinding.

Breaking news;

Open play advocate, had fun in Open.
More at ten.

Perhaps I should make a thread every time I play for the mode I play in that day?

Monday; Jockey loads Solo, enjoys Solo....
Tuesday; Jockey loads friends private group, enjoys game with a friend....
Wednesday; Jockey loads Mobius, cannot dock as it's too busy so loads friends private group - without his friend being online !!
Thursday; Jockey went to play Guild Wars 2, didn't load Elite: Dangerous at all...
Friday; Jockey got too drunk to figure out the main menu - his wife laughed...
Saturday; Jockey has a hangover, went back too bed...
Sunday; Jockey cooked dinner for the in laws, went to bed early.

Seriously, what is the need by Open advocates to constantly tell us they play in Open?
[Edit: same for those who die in Open, what did they expect to happen there - to find Santa? ]

The weekend was kind of a piracy wash-out for me, Goose.

Friday night was so promising, but some sort of instancing failure was causing hatchbreakers to connect and not actually drop cargo. Lost a Keelie, a T-9, and a T-7 over that.

Saturday started well, with me pulling another keelie and discovering that hatchbreakers were suddenly working again. Then it bottomed out... lost some big ships to high wake, and the three I managed to snag weren't carrying any cargo.

By Sunday I was firmly in Solo Beta Testing mode.

Nothing to be 'scared of' in open. Hardly. I'd just burn it to the ground and ban the MMO portion of the game to it's own server. ;)

I have never played anywhere else but in open. And it is nothing like you can "READ". at first ( once i gained skills) i would purposely put myself in situations where bad things could happen with other players, but everytime i always ended up having positive experiences. I wish more commanders would come play in open

I always find it interesting that some think that those of us who avoid Open are "scared"...far from it. Nor are we "angry", "frightened", any other adjective.
Must be a proud god mode button owner? I find it more interesting why someone who prefers their solobius mode constantly goes to topics mentioning open mode and tells everyone how they are happy and not scared and sometime use the god mode button with lot of proud.

Hi!

I am Ziggy! I like games. Do you like games? If so, we both like games and I feel we're already bonding.

Do you feel we're bonding? :)
