Community Event / Creation Thrustmaster Warthog Configuration & Sheets

Erm... TARGET is not prohibiting you from using keyboard. You only may need to bind some actions on it, if they all are bound to DX keys in profile.

It worked! Thanks sooo much for the suggestion. All I needed was to bind a single function to the keyboard and BAM! working like normal.

Awesome thread! Lots of good solid information. I am building a script right now that uses yours as a base. I will post it once I finish it!

Thanks for everyones input in this thread I have learned a great deal about what I want from my warthog. Lots of good ideas. And fo course thanks Mike for the work you put into this from the start!

Here is my morsel of information.

The game will hide any keybinds that have devices that are not recognized by the game any/or the computer. The problem I had was this: I build a profile for the warthog in single player using the target software. Every worked great. As soon as I loaded up mutiplayer my keybinds disappeared out of the controls menu. For some reason it worked in single play but not mutiplayer. Turns out I was using the target software (Which btw I love, you can do so much with it) and it combines the controllers into one virtual controller, yet some how the keybinds that I had before was using the split up joystick and throttle. This was causing the game to iqnore the keybinds even though they are there.

This is caused by the device that is assigned to the keybind is not currently seen by the game. The .binds file is just an xml file. In there every keybind has a device tag. When using the target software all the device tags should be "ThrustMasterWarthogCombined." If they are "ThrustMasterWarthogThrottle" or "ThrustMasterWarthogJoystick" then the game will not see the .binds file if the targetsoftware is running, this is becuase the target software removes "ThrustMasterWarthogThrottle" and "ThrustMasterWarthogJoystick" and combines them into ThrustMasterWarthogCombined.

I hope this helps anyone with keybinddings disappearing.

new to the site! Looks great and lots of info.
The issue I am having is with speed control. I am using that little dial on the side of the thruster. it's not very accurate any it's more of a pain. New to
The warthog, feels great.

Thanks again.

Hi Bean. I also saw your post on reddit which was a lot more confusing than this post :)

Don't use the dial, it is not very good for use with anything. Use either mine or MikeyTTTs profiles to use the throttle handle for speed, either set to 'full range' (within Elite's control settings) with a deadzone of about 20 (use that when you get more experienced) or simply 'forward only'.

Thanks and yea I did not understand the video. All the advice I got was helpful and will this weekend dial it in to he a more realistic game play. Thanks for the info !!

Not sure if it's just me or not but the custom binds and the TARGET profile don't exactly match up. For instance, the TARGET binds for shield cell and cycle previous subsystem are both U and at least the prev subsystem bind isn't set in the custom binds file, though I haven't checked if the shield cell is bound properly.

Using the OP profile - one thing missing is the Oculus reset at F12. Can't see where I can assign that in the custom profile list. Any ideas?

Hi, I've gone and put my own script together for my own Warthog, however I can't seem to get the following to work in the script editor, any one have any idea why?

Code:
system("spawn -w \"D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Frontier\\EDLaunch\" \"D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Frontier\\EDLaunch\\EDLaunch.exe\"");

And yes, it's installed to the D Drive.

Hi all!
Noob to the game..been waiting for a really good Space sim since the days of Wing Commander and Freespace, so it's been AWHILE lol.. I am using the Warthog Hotas, which I used for A10 along time ago. Never really got into TARGET, as I didnt want to learn what seems to make it a really powerfull program...just used it to switch a key here or there. Anyways, read all 15 pages last night and I kind of know the answers to my questions but I really could use confirmation and any help that you think is needed..

When I tried to use a TM config for the game with keyboard and mouse I has issues. Seemed to forget what was in the config and so forth. So when I wnet into target to fix it I noticed there was no LIST of KEYBINDS for the game. SO if I wanted to put say a fire weapon on TG1 there was no pointer to tell the program what the game binds it to. Where does TARGET put the files? Why was there no keyboard key list to use in making your own file to run for the game? Not sure it it uunzipped somewhere or not.

So today I just used the game Warthog file and added what I wanted, but noticed doing this doesn't seem to give the game/config file for Warthog a way to differentiate between button 1 on the stick or the throttle.....am I corect here? Will this be an issue. I think it may so thats why I think some Target help would be great BUT I really dont want to spend the afternoon making a TXT file with the games keybinds on it, which I dont know where to put anyways for TARGET to use anyways

Is there a list of Warthog files to use anywhere? I see some but not sure if it has the keybingd list for me to edit..

Ok..may be missing something right in front of me but please hlep if you can!
Thankspeople!

It is just me that have problems with getting the files? Target Profile and Custom Binds?

(yeah, just made a user to ask this, got my Warthog for some days ago and this profile seems to be what I am looking for). :)

I just use the direct key binds in the ED Options screen. I don't have any of the Thrustmaster software installed.

Sorry, I've not been keeping tabs on the thread after the subscription emails stopped working.

I've just fixed the 404 errors, not 100% sure why they broke, as I've not touched the site they are hosted on.

Anyway fixed now :)

Just added in the custom binds that ExRex wanted to share onto the front page for you to download too.

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to use this profile but when binding the keys in ED it's doubling up. In other words I get [Joy 4] + [Joy 4] which is fine but gets kinda confused when it assigns 2 different keys. Then it doesn't work. It seems like ED is seeing the controllers that the TARGET software is supposed to be hiding. So one command comes from the virtual controller and the other comes from the real one. When I stop TARGET I don't get the doubling. I'd like to use just to do the extra stuff (like proper landing deployment without toggling the switch - would be cool if ED had hold options for all these but hey).

I'm on Windows 10 and I've tried disabling the power management as suggested in another thread but this hasn't done a thing.

Any ideas?

Well copying over the custom bind file got be set up so at least I can use it with the default controls but I won't be able to change any mappings. Maybe it's a Windows 10 thing and Thrustmaster will provide an update but I'll try another game to see it's just ED that's the problem.

Hi MikeyTT,

Your download links for Custom and Target Binds are giving 404 errors at the moment. Do you mind updating the links please.

Thanks.
