Ye ikr. The lack of transparency was always the issue here. So much that I've left the game for 2 years because there was nothing new and there was also a big unknown in the future. I could ride the hype train if I'd at least know the destination. In case you forgot in 8 years they release: 1 DLC - 1 year after game release, and another one 6.5 years after game release. Last one was a massive flop, it got so bad they not only had to cancel adding Odyssey to Concole, they had to close down entire console population from any future game updates. And it get's worse, they had to also cancel VR for Odyssey on-foot gameplay. They basically failed massively with this last DLC, and the worse part is: total disconnect from the playerbase. Players had to beg them to release Roadmaps.
You know what normal Developers would have done in this situation? Roadmaps, giveaways, anything that would excite players for the future of the game. Frontier done none of that. Have you seen their latest Update 14 notes - " We added some content, but we are not going to tell you what it is" - Nobody does stuff like that, it only shows they don't know what's in the Update either. It's a horrible way to treat their shrinking playerbase. It's just shows they don't care about how badly the game is doing.
If you think they will start releasing DLC's when they population shirnked by 50 % since Odyssey release, and will keep on shrinking now that Console players have been canceled officially, it's not going to happend, there is no money in it. They will just honor their 10 year promise cause this was a Kickstarter project, and then it's Legacy time.
I don't know how many people played on console but the PC population alone is enough to keep it going and release new paid content as long as it's a good one. This game might be a niche but there's nothing really like it. Star Citizen with it's 4 planets can't really hold anyone for long lol. This game seems to be mismanaged but like I said gonna stay optimistic or enjoy what it is
