Titan Rewards Update

There needs to be some method to know if you're meeting the criteria, rather than just guesswork, especially since we don't actually know when the "end" will actually be, so it's not like you can plan to do your contribution at a given time.

But ... how do we know when that week begins?
Use the Galaxy Map to check on the progress?

Better than abusing the fact that you don't lose Combat bonds when you die, do a trivial amount of damage, and then do nothing. The rewards are offered to encourage participation in bringing about the end of the war after all.

Some sort of addition to the titan health ring display that tells the player how much they, personally, have achieved would be beneficial. Not sure how possible that would be, given the game's data - but something somewhere must be counting eligibility so there has to be a way to display that information to the player? 🤔

Just to avoid panic, whilst on paper these requirements might sound like a challenge they are easily in line with how things went with Taranis and have been designed to be achievable without someone doing this 👇 to the Titans and then wandering off to get the same rewards as those who've been diligently doing their part for humanity.

So much for flitting from Titan to Titan just like a butterfly 😜

That only shows overall progress, not your personal contribution though.
Perhaps it might be a reasonable idea to join in a group, so bounties can be acquired much faster than just playing as a loner?
Buur's PG was very active over the last week of Taranis, and they are a very friendly group - even the dedicated AX squadrons have PGs which you might join and fly in a team with their members.

But I could go out right now and do 50 million worth of damage to, say, Raijin. It probably wouldn't register on the progress display, let alone take a heart. And then weeks down the track, when the community has reduced the resistance enough to make total obliteration possible, someone else can come along and do 2m worth of damage - less than 10% of what I've already contributed - and they would get the rewards and I wouldn't, because my actions were done more than a week ago.

This idea of "minimum criteria" has missed the mark.

I know life often gets in the way, but on average it's not an unreasonable requirement to log in once a week to do a Titan run if you really want the rewards. Once you got some practice it is relative easy to get 2M on bonds. When I did it in solo, I could reliably hit 4 to 6 vents, and did enough damage to the core that I got bonds between 800k and 1.3M per attack run. Those prerequisites are not unreasonable.

One could argue that if you cannot meet those prerequisites, your CMDR simply isn't eligible to wear a "I killed <x number> of Titans" decal. You have to actually get in battle to earn a purple heart, so I've heard.

Those criteria will not prevent a single CMDR that is participating in taking down the Titans in earnest from getting the rewards. All it does is prevent cheesing it.
The 2 million wouldn't, I think. The 1 week prior to defeat plausibly will.

For example, I will be out of town for over a week in March. I can't say whether a titan will be destroyed that week, let alone when in that week it will happen. Maybe it will affect me, maybe it won't. I'll certainly contribute to the effort where I can, but it just seems... arbitrary to restrict the contributions to only the week prior, when it can take more than a week from start to finish.
