To the far rim in a Sidey

Seems OK to me. We were going to have a couple of days out in the new year but it depends on the weather. Its been pretty damp and miserable in Blighty. I'll try to make to "Digger's Demise" today and then it doesn't matter if you arrive today or tomorrow.
Will you be in open?

Have you seen DrKali and Erimus video of picking materials up without an SRV?
IO

Hay I like the name Digger's Demise better...more alliteration ;)

I will almost certainly get there tonight but am happy to hang around on 1/2 if you're not there yet.

I haven't seen the DrKaii/Erimus SRV video...but then I don't have an SRV... :)

Nutter!
See you on the other side commander

Thanks Cmdr... ;)

I look forward to meeting the fleet, and your good self on the other side of the core.

Maybe I'll form a one-sidey cheer squad as you leap off on the path to Ceeckia ZQ-L C24-0...since I won't be able to come with you.

Day 9 (38) completed:

Number of Jumps: 203
Total Jumps (9 days): 1,510
Avg Jumps / day: 167.8
Total Distance Travelled: 87,502LY (Day 9) - 56,635LY (Day 0) = 30,867LY
Avg Distance / Jump: 20.4 LY

Distance to SOL: 28,329.70LY

Distance to EOS CHREA NY-Q C21 349 A 1: 967.53LY
Estimated Number of Jumps: 47.4
Estimated Number of Days: 0.3
ETA at EOS CHREA NY-Q C21-349: 02/01/3302

And then on to Beagle Point:

Distance to CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 (Beagle Point): 36,971.79LY
Estimated Number of Jumps: 1,812.3
Estimated Number of Days: 10.8
ETA at Beagle Point: 12/01/3302

I can be so bloody stupid!! Tonight I had only 3800 LY to EOS CHREA (where Iron Orchid was waiting for a meet-up)...easily done in the time I had...except I forgot that EOS CHREA is 1200LY above the galactic plane. I couldn't figure our for the life of me why I couldn't get closer than 1040LY...until...ding!...doh! Very angry with myself.

So I am here instead of at EOS (where you can see IO waiting patiently):

Its a pity there aren't any grid lines with x,y,z distances marked or other way of knowing the co-ords of a target system.....

Day 39 completed: (I have reverted to my original numbering system as I have done my ten days penance, and returned to where I face planted into the dirt of "Digger's Demise")

Number of Jumps: 70
Total Jumps (39 days): 3,322
Avg Jumps / day: 85.2
Total Distance Travelled: 88,960LY (Day 39) - 21,929LY (Day 0) = 67,031LY
Avg Distance / Jump: 20.2 LY

Distance to SOL: 28,391.02LY

Distance to EOS CHREA NY-Q C21-349 A 1 A: 0LY
Made it to EOS CHREA NY-Q C21-349 A 1 A *Digger's Demise" on 02/01/3302...I also met the awesome Cmdr Iron Orchid for a meet and greet! Great to see you Cmdr.

Now on to Beagle Point:

Distance to CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 (Beagle Point): 36,927.82LY
Estimated Number of Jumps: 1,828.1
Estimated Number of Days: 21.5
ETA at Beagle Point: 24/01/3302

I have uploaded a video of Digger's Demise. In the video I fly over the crater (mentioned in the original "crash" post) and then into the canyon where I bit the dust. The most obvious feature of the canyon is that the floor rises steeply directly after I pass over the canyon wall...not expecting this, I face planted into the dust right where the two bumps on the rise are. Unfortunately no wreckage or data canisters were present for me to salvage (not that I was expecting them).

A close up of the "offending" canyon floor...

Later on I met Cmdr Iron Orchid on Digger's Demise:

The video shows us landing on the surface (and I only managed to lose 1% hull).

Also some stills of Cmdr Iron Orchid:

Finally, after leaving Digger's Demise I returned to my original journey and started heading back towards Beagle Point:

Keep em coming Frawd. Every step from here on is breaking new ground for you, which is always better than the ground breaking you!

Thanks Cmdr. Lol...yes, I prefer to break new ground rather than the ground breaking me. I wish I had played beta then maybe I could get this desire to scream down canyons out of my system...rather than doing it for the first time 28kly out...

It looks like I'm only 4700ly from you. I'm at hypuae phyloea wy-s e3-2281 and about to enter the neutron fields on this side for some blatant money grabbing before heading home.

Might do the great annihilator as I've not been there yet though.
