Horizons Totally fed up with this stupid bug!!!!

Bugged or not...

How does taking a mission automatically inform every NPC between you and your destination?

Immersion?

It's obvious that NPCs have some inside information from the Bulletin Board, is it hacked or do some NPC station personnel sell the information to pirates? I'd like to know why human pirates can't get that information and know when and where other Commanders are taking missions or materials!

I feel for the OP, it's an utterly ridiculous mechanic. It is completely immersion breaking. A little while back the devs even changed the mission board so that you were more likely to find multiple missions going to the same destination. Why would they do this if not so people could stack the missions? But it seems they didn't bother to change the other mechanic associated with mission running, that of the NPC's that spawn in on the roll of a dice. So you can be in the bonkers situation where every time you enter the SC instance, a whole load of NPC's instantly appear spouting the same identical lines of chat in the coms screen. Seriously last night I had 3 "I've been sent to find you" NPC's and 2 "All that tasty cargo!" NPC's, all pop into existence the instant I left a station and entered SC on route to another nearby station. I had pirates literally popping into existence behind my ship in SC all last night, like 5ls behind me, instant interdiction. I fought off one pirate, re-entered SC and had another appear behind me straight away, all in the space of a 20ls hop to another station, it's just way too cheesy and it gets tiresome.

We all know that when you stack a dozen or so missions that this is what happens, that is not the issue. It's blatantly transparent even to an idiot what is going on. The issue is that it's a complete load of rubbish. Yet it still never ceases to amaze me that we still get people coming on here making excuses for it. The old "I like to imagine that it's the NPC..........", insert some ridiculously contrived guff to somehow explain away the dreadful game mechanics. There are no excuses, it is just plain old bad game design, pure and simple. To be honest it feels like a lot of this stuff was just thrown in as a place holder until they could come up with something better, like the planetary POI's so obviously are for instance.

It's a daft mechanic. As far as I'm aware from what I've read here and there, FD do realise this and it is one of the things being changed in the new update. Along with mission ranks now just determining the difficulty of a mission and not whether you can take it or not. For now though we've just got to suck it up until May or June or whenever it is that it rolls out.

Exactly this. It is an inside job.

Or ghouls - ghouls in rockets!

So, we are told to stack our missions right. I spent several hours stacking missions and writing them down and working out loads of things I was going to do. Then travel 400 LY evading everyone and get to my destination. Then the bug where you get endless (10 in a row inderdicks) and finnaly arrive after 20 mins of the same noise and get the bug scan from a cloacked ship. It scans you no matter how many time you get away!!!! I am sooooo %$3£"&^"%" fed up!!! What is wrong with these people?

Why release these things if they are broken and FD know it???? I have just paid them another £25 for horizons to get this kind of service as usual. Which is still broken and has nothing to offer. Why did I listen to the reviews?

I have been here since beta and the same old bugs are still here. I am soooo anoyed!!!! Why did I ever think they would fix what they have first?

Rage quit? I smashed everything on my desk! Thank you FD
No you are not told to Mission Stack.

Edited to add: 'mission stacking' generally means mode switching to gather lots of the same mission type.

On the point of the 'Pixels knowing everything'. You are eaccepting a mission on an open forum what do you expect. Everyone knows about Robigo - including the cops.

To be more precise I think ( and sincerely hope ) that the way you accept missions ( in this case illegal ones ) is more of a placeholder. I hope that in later iterations of the game you will actually have to go into the 'dark underbelly' of stations/planets to make contacts to give you illegal missions ( this is less about Robigo but more about accepting (for example) a smuggling run where the goods are illegal in both stations ).
Depending on how you behave doing that the likability of the cops getting on your tail should rise and fall.
