Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

STAR SYSTEM/S WITH CHANGED NAME/S:
BLANCO 1 SECTOR EG-Y D8 > BLANCO 1 SECTOR EQ-Y D8

[1] CLIPBOARD ISSUE
As you know I update the STAR CLASS of systems within my current TRADE RANGE. To do this I double click the STAR NAME and then it should be in my clipboard for pasting in to the the GALAXY MAP. However there are some issues, which I'll try and explain.

{a} If a double click is registered by TCE quickly then the new star system is not added to the clipboard. This doesn't mean when I double click quickly but when TCE registers a double click quickly. As normally TCE recognises two clicks with a noticeable pause between clicks. If you don't get a noticeable pause between clicks then the clipboard isn't updated.

{b} When clicking 3 times, then again the clipboard doesn't get updated by TCE and what was previously in the clipboard remains present.

Only when TCE recognises 2 clicks with a recognisable pause between clicks is the clipboard updated correctly.

EXAMPLES:
I double click quickly and TCE recognises both clicks = CLIPBOARD IS NOT UPDATED
I double click quickly and TCE only recognises 1 click then I click again but there is no delay = CLIPBOARD IS NOT UPDATED
I double click quickly and TCE only recognises 1 click then I click again but there is a delay = CLIPBOARD IS UPDATED

If Double clicking intentionally slowly then sometimes the clipboard is updated, but more often than not the clipboard isn't updated.

NOTE: This has been happening for a very long time, and I was able to work round it, but recently it's got worse, especially with the quick double click issue {a}
Also when I say recognised I mean that TCE makes an audio sound for the click/s.

[2] BLACK GAME SCREEN WHEN DETAILED SCAN COMPLETES

This doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes the game screen goes black for 2 to 3 seconds when a DETAILED SURFACE SCAN completes. This tends to happen more often when I have the NAVIGATION PANEL open at the same time as I'm updating STAR CLASS'S.

Both panels seems to be off-screen. Please try to move them manually with the Options panel (Panel Configuration) or deactivate the Free Panel Placement and restart.
The last option would be a reset (set to default) of the Panel.db file from the Launcher Database window.

Thanks Eventure, I deactivated the Free panel Placement and that did the trick, had a error on first startup then another on second start:

But all seems ok now with a DB verify, no errors on startup!

EDIT: I think my backup program may of caused the errors as it was running and backing up my TCE to the cloud at the time?

Many thanks

Development Update:

Hi everyone and welcome to a new Dev Update.
I spent alot of time working out all new stuff, coming along with the ED 3.0 beta.

I have reworked the Minimap panel in many aspects, now it fullfills a great navigation assistance, similar to the Surface Navigation by Khelder, if anyone remember it. Here is a screenshot:

It can handle all landable planets, no longer required to have a location stored previously on a planet or adding manually the planetary radius.
TCE is checking first, if the planet is in database, either by a scan or manual add and taking the radius from there.
Otherwise TCE will notice you to drop from supercruise to sync the Minimap with the game, thereafter you can return to supercruise.

As soon as the radius is known to TCE, you can add planetary locations (with their respective LAT/LONG value) at the Planetary Map as before, so TCE can guide you easily, while in supercruise, to the spot, you have added.
The player direction marker (red arrow) now have 72 possible directions (5° each), instead of 8 before, which makes the Minimap appear nicely. The panel is now always semi-transparent, which fits far better into the UI of ED and TCE.
The maximal displayed object distance was also increased from 100 km to 51.200 km, now covering most planets, but it would be no problem to increase the range for bigger planets.
The name of the object is now displayed into the panel beside the object for better survey of locations at a planet. Additionally I achieved to constantly update the map from a parallel thread, so the UI won't suffer any lag.

Okay, that's all for today. I will try to release it to you all asap, but some late testing has to be done.

Awesome work! FD Should give you a job! XXX

1: Don't know exactly, where you did the double-click, I guess it is on a star system entry at the Navigation panel.
If so, you could only update the clipboard by selecting a star system (single-click) and thereafter on the Destination button. There is no double-click event at any control of the Navigation panel.

2: Thanks for the info, happens on large Cartography databases. Should be fixed with the upcoming version.

Yes at the NAVIGATION > STAR SYSTEM PANEL. Single clicking a STAR SYSTEM does not add the entry to the clipboard, so that may be the problem.

Neither a double-click or a single-click. The clipboard is only updated by setting a destination to star systems, trade markets, locations or bookmarks.

Version [1.6.7] Beta 1 released (ED 3.0 BETA only):

Changelog:
- Added Powerplay powers to the EDDB-Relay star system update.
- Added the ability to EDDB-Relay to include stations for the initial database, which are present in star systems, that are unknown to TCE (e.g. Colonia region).
- Added a complete rework for the Outfitting database, reducing the required file size by 80%. Unfortunately, previous stored outfitting data can't be transferred. Refill the database with EDDB-Relay.
- Added new jounal events: 'NpcCrewPaidWage', 'NpcCrewRank', 'Shutdown", 'Commander', 'Reputation', 'Missions', 'Statistics', 'ApproachBody', 'LeaveBody'
- Added an automatic registration of previously unregistered trade markets.
- Added a new 'Statistics' tab to the Personal panel.
- Added 64 additional player direction indicators to the Minimap and Planetary Map panel.
- Added a major rework of the Minimap panel.
- Fixed an error at the Route Finder panel.
- Fixed an error at the System Summary Info window.
- Fixed an issue with a spamming Shopping Alert.
- Fixed an issue with the tracked faction list.
- Fixed an error with the 'CrewFire' event.
- Fixed an issue with the visit count for stored locations.
- Fixed an error when selecting a stored location as the destination at the Navigation panel.
- Fixed an error when selecting a location to modify at the Location Database panel.
- Fixed a black screen issue with the 'Scan' event.
- Removed the status display for EliteOCR at the Launcher.

Notes:
This version is only compatible with the ED 3.0 Beta. You can transfer your database from a previous released version of TCE.
This TCE Beta focus on the new Minimap panel, so please try it out.

This full version requires a new installation of TCE and a transfer of the databases from a previous version. Do not install this full version over your old.
Please check here, how to install a new full version, when used an older version before.
1. Rename your current TCE folder (e.g. D:\TCE.old).
2. Install the new full TCE Version (e.g. D:\TCE).
3. Run the TCE Launcher.
4. Select Database -> Transfer -> Choose old folder (D:\TCE.old).
5. After scanning, select Start Transfer.
If you find an error, please report and use the Report a Bug button at the launcher and don't forget to copy the error details and ErrorReportFile.7z archive.

I like to remind any user, who wants to use TCE in french, spanish or russian to help in translating the
latest interface phrases, common commodities and rare commodities at OneSky. Thanks in advance.

Double click does work though, but with the issues as mentioned above.

Checked it twice, there is no clipboard update beside the noted above.
Maybe the clipboard update comes from another ED app, running in the back?

@Did you saw the message "Clipboard updated" from the Event Reporter?
It is connected to the clipboard update process.

I don't get it? This has been like this for as long as I can remember.

I have closed down everything so the only things that are running are the game and TCE and I can still double click a star name to get it into my clipboard. Ah well. leave it as it is then.

TCE 1.6.6.8 ISSUES:

[1] REGIONAL SUMMARY ERROR
I got this error when going to the REGIONAL SUMMARY TAB, and even when selecting CONTINUE, no details are shown for the region. I have my TRADE RANGE set to 1000 and REGIONAL SUMMARY was set to 10 LY's, I changed it to 50 LY's and was then unable to select any other TABS in the NAVIGATION PANEL. I quit and restarted TCE and then the REGIONAL SUMMARY was shown as expected.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
[2] BOUNTIES ISSUE
Sometimes when I get a bounty a duplicate entry is created with 0 CR redeemable value.
hH6cBA7.png
And when the bounty is claimed the 0 CR entry is removed but the real bounty entry remains and needs to be removed manually
MY5dpIK.png
This only seems to happen when I gain a single bounty after destroying a ship. When I get 2 or more bounties after destroying a ship this problem doesn't seem to happen.

[3] UNABLE TO ADD A LOCATION
I'm current in PUPPIS SECTOR FB-X B1-4 around Planet 3 and was attempting to add a new location in space for a LISTENING POST, however when opening the LOCATION PANEL selecting NEW ENTRY doesn't work. No system information is shown and I'm then unable to add the new location.
fdhfEnC.png
I have tried quitting out of TCE and restarting. I also re-verified my db's and restated, none of this changed the situation.

FILES EMAILED

I have closed down everything so the only things that are running are the game and TCE and I can still double click a star name to get it into my clipboard. Ah well. leave it as it is then.

I know now, what's going on.
The double-click onto a label within a frame is a buildin function of windows. That's why you can double-click onto any displayed label to get a copy of the content into the clipboard.
So, we both are right and wrong! :)

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

And when the bounty is claimed the 0 CR entry is removed but the real bounty entry remains and needs to be removed manually This only seems to happen when I gain a single bounty after destroying a ship.

I have tried quitting out of TCE and restarting. I also re-verified my db's and restated, none of this changed the situation.

FILES EMAILED

1: Found the issue. Will be fixed with the next update.

2: Yes, it happens sometimes, because Frontier didn't managed to fix the wrong 'Bounty' output at the journal actually, see below
Code:
{ "timestamp":"2018-02-04T21:28:51Z", "event":"Bounty", "Rewards":[ { "Faction":"Empire", "Reward":161700 },[B] [COLOR=#ff0000]{ "Faction":"", "Reward":0 }[/COLOR][/B] ], "Target":"federation_gunship", "TotalReward":161700, "VictimFaction":"$faction_none;", "VictimFaction_Localised":"None" }
I will fix it with the next update, so TCE will ignore this bug.

3: To add a space location, you have to be in 'Normal Flight' state, not in supercruise.
All Database panels will be reworked soon, encompassing all into one panel.

I know now, what's going on.
The double-click onto a label within a frame is a buildin function of windows. That's why you can double-click onto any displayed label to get a copy of the content into the clipboard.
So, we both are right and wrong! :)
I'm more right [big grin]

I know that, I am in normal cruise and I can't add ANY more locations than the 459 I currently have. I have just now deleted 1 entry using the TCE interface to check if some limit had been reached, but I'm still unable to add a new location.

UPDATE: I deleted 3 location entries (I now have 3 #EMPTY entries) and I was then able to add the new location, so it looks like there is some limit on the number of locations you can add.

NOPE that wasn't it as I tried again and I still can't add a new location. It let me add one immediately after deleting an entry, but trying again and it didn't work. I have 459 entries in my LOCATIONS db and even deleting several entries still won't allow me to add any more locations, no matter what I try.

I now re-verifying my db, once that's complete I'll try with a default Locations db and see if I'm then able to add this locations.

Okay, I think the problem is the close body (landable?), TCE may think you are at the planet, but lacks of information about the radius of it.
You have deactivated the Minimap panel, where you get the possibility to add the radius (at the Planetary Map panel), or simply scan the planet to get the radius or land on it, if possible.
TCE had a slight loose definition, when close to a planet. And when it thinks, you are at a planet, it requires the radius.
This definition was completely changed at the new V1.6.7 of TCE.

I'm unable to scan the planet as I've already scanned it before Cartography was a thing in TCE. Anyway I did what you suggested and now it works. [up]

Hi Eventure

TCE won't load past 35%. I haven't been on a few days and thought I would update the EDDB stuff, so i updated all three. Now when trying to load it just stops at 30%

Thanks as always for the wonderful work

Please send me a report with your files, so I can check, what caused the problem.
Thanks.

@Did you verified your database?

Ok - thanks its on the way to you

Just saw your message about verification -- Im doing that now

OK so I have verified and Registered Markets keeps saying unverified. So I verify it and its then says Error. I then clilck Repair and I get a message "ID error detected! Please verify and repair again. This could be necessary multiple times"

I have carried that out quite a lot of times -- shall i continue?
