Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

NOTE:

EDMC requires an update, just released whilst I was playing.

I got an error in TCE when Connecting, Server Error. I then saw that EDMC required an update, once done TCE works fine.
Yes, I found that update too, but I don't think TCE is finding EDMC for me. Do you have to run EDMC and leave it minimized for TCE to see it? I tried that and not having it running, but TCE shows me "not" under commodities/view/not I think it's TCE saying it's not connected to EDMC.

Edit: I did set the exe path within TCE for EDMC first.

Edit: I got it working. I did not set a shortcut key for EDMC within TCE. Once I did that, and hit that key when TCE (but not EDMC) was running, the prices updated. Nice.

Market data and Flight Log in CSV format file

Send station data to EDDN is optional as this will send your data to community sites.

Sorry to correct you, but you only need to add your credentials. Nothing more. All output is set by TCE.

You have a CONNECT button below the TRADE button. It displays if you reach a registered market. Click on it to use EDMC.

no, eventure uses a command line version to start EDMC, so it does not require to be running.
install it, log in, enter the verification code from the mail, and you're good to go.
don't bother the options.

in TCE MKII, you'll need to first register the market, after succesfully saving the market you'll see a connect button below the trade button.
that's all.

edit: ninja'd by the man himself.

Please check your TCE folder, if you have write/full access at the properties. Will check tomorrow, if I can optimize this (found something with the file access). An update will follow then.
A Compact UI is not planned.

I'd already tried that - I have 'Full Control' under the permissions on all the relevant folders.

The error I had been getting suggested that permission changes could be made with the .NET configuration utility but it appears that this was removed under .NET v4 (I am running Windows 10).

Hi Eventure,

I got the DB files you converted, and copy/pasted them into the DB folder. Thank you.

I am seeing some weirdness though...

When I try to change the zoom level of a panel, this is what I see:
And when I try to change the font level, I get an error saying something like "unhandled exception has occured in you application. if you click continue..." and then lower "value of '0' is not valid for 'emSize'. 'emSize' should be greater than 0 and less than or equal to System.Single.MaxValue."

I am running at 5760x1080.

*edit: also, TCE doesn't seem to remember the font size change I make in 'control/panel'. It makes the changes to the main panel, but the next time I run TCE, font size is back to default.

*edit2: running 0.9.6

Have the issue too, so I can recreate it. Will be fixed tomorrow.

Try to reinstall .net runtime: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx?id=30653

I didn't even see the left picture, D'oh, but nice to know. I have most selected anyway, I like to share.

DON'T TRUST A TESTER. :D

That is a bit funny. I saw the 'connect' and thought, hmm, wonder what that does. I clicked on it and TCE seemed to lock up. I then shut down TCE. I suspect it LOOKED like that because 1) I had hit the shortcut key for EDMC, and there's a 60 wait before EMDC will update again or 2) I just didn't give TCE enough time to update. Either way, seems my fault. I will try the Connect button in a few min.

Cool beans.

EDMC data is handled local, so there is no sharing possible. You can share your data, when using EDMC app, if you like. The commandline tool doesn't upload any data.

Hi Eventure

Great work on Mk II - thanks for all your hard work.

I realise you are overloaded at this time but I am having a problem with the database integration from I to II.

I have followed other posters to this thread and have gleaned various tips from this but I'm still having problems. I have installed TCE II under D:\TCE II (as you advised in an earlier post), upgraded to 0.9.6 and have altered the shortcut to run as administrator.

The configuration routine works fine and also the database conversion, but once I click to integrate the databases I get the "Exception from HRESULT 0x800A0046 (CTL_E_PERMISSIONDENIED)" error. I've tried various solutions with permissions but I still get the error. Do you have any ideas?

this is the same issue i'm having if i have to i can start from scratch but i have alot of info in my DB'S i'd like to keep it if posisble

Brilliant job again Eventure, appreciate the time and effort putting this invaluable tool together.

Am i able to move the main control panel or shrink it down like the 'waypoints' 'credits' & 'summary panels?

not exactly shrinking, but in the config you could set a hotkey for show/hide.

Eventure: Note, if you have AV-Astra the num-keys you have linked to the list of options are already taken in the default settings.
Suggest add Shift-F# and alt-F# and ctrl-F# to the keys supported for hotkeys

Still haven't resolved my problem with the database conversion but in the meantime have been playing around with the default database.

Spotted a few possible bugs.

Navigation Panel
On the Star System tab under the Inner System Location the distance is just a place holder as shown below
Navigation Star Systems.jpg

whereas on the Market Places tab the distance is clearly shown
Navigation Market Places.jpg

Market Database Operation
If only a planet ID is modified there is no option to 'Save' but if some other element is modified at the same time the Planet ID change will be saved along with the other changes.

Commodity Panel
When viewing commodity prices and changing between 'full' and 'compact' viewssome of the stock levels are displayed incorrectly - in the screen shots below the Surface Stabilisers stock level is shown under Clothing when compacted but is displayed correctly when returning to the 'full' view.

Also I notice that when adding or modifying a star the distance to the last system is no longer shown as it was under TCE MkI. I feel that this should be a vital addition for MkII as I found that just depending on the 4 stars chosen to calculate distances was not always correct. By seeing the distance to the last system and comparing this with ED it was possible to use different systems until the precise positioning was achieved.

Whilst the errors in calcualtion are small (usually only 0.01 LY) this can accumulate over time and cause problems in future calculations. It also causes differences in the route finder when compared to the calculated route in ED.

Still no joy I'm afraid. Downloaded and tried to reinstall but got the following message: -

Details
  1. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system. You do not need to install the .NET Framework 4.5 redistributable.
  2. Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4.5 has already been installed on this computer.

It wouldn't let me go any further even had I wanted to.

Guess i'm missing something here, but i cannot save a new start port to the system

I'm in LTT2322, there are 3 listed markets in TCE, however i am in 'Ivins Enterprises' star port which is not listed. When I try to enter this new port in Market DB there are no options to save and pressing hide just makes all that data disappear.

Any thoughts on what i am doing wrong?

Issue 1: I've seen, but haven't been able to replicate, it happens sometimes.

Issue 2: That made me laugh, as it's a bug I've seen on occasion, intresting bug that doesn't actually affect the stats, purely a display issue. I usually stay away from COMPACT as it had issues in MK.I.

Speaking of which.

Issue 3: That's the same problem that MK.I had, also EDDiscovery, the latter pools data together to get more accurate results. Also EDMC specifically asks for more positional data from the crowdsourced people. One set of coordinates isn't going to do the job accurately.

The SAVE option only appears when you have entered all the required details, so you've probably not filled in a required field?

I have issues with importing the old database from Mk I version 1.56 Beta 6.
I don't think it is able to recognize the data in the database, or it doesn't actually move anything. The only thing it does do for me is perform functions.
It's not giving any errors or complaining anywhere.
My Database has some 98 Trade Stations, 63 Systems and some 10,290 lines of Price Data. Yet this conversion tool doesn't want to display any of that either.

Is there something you need from me to resolve this.

I tried using the blank database and run into an issue with one of the windows at the bottom.
The Summary window is initially too long for my screen resolution. The initial position of the Horizontal line at the bottom of the window cannot be below 1080 because if I don't grab that window before it minimises, it drops below my taskbar and I can't get it back. It appears to not have the same initial positioning parameters as that of Waypoints and Credits.

Any Chance you could take a look please.
