Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Hi Eventure

Thanks for the post and yes I had missed it and it looks fabulous but will it still be able to keep the totals running for the next time I load up as I maybe doing a job for a few days or as "punkerich" suggested a week with a save button..

thanks dee..

punkerich is meaning something else and YES, I do the job for them, on a free base! If they want a weekly update, they have to pay for them! :D

Back to topic:
The loss and income is added automatically to a category, when buying, selling or paying something. There is no need to add any value anymore, but you can, if you will or something is not covered by TCE and the journal.
When ending a session, TCE will store the session value for each category to show it later on as a graph bar history.
You can see your current value of a category for the session by clicking the category name. The last bar will hold this value. To know exactly, how high the value is, you can click the bar.

Hi Eventure.

Ok will wait to have a play when it comes out..

thanks dee.

Small suggestion:

Instead of asking repeatedly whether we wish to close TCE (I came back to at least 15 windows I had to click "No" on), perhaps just automatically close TCE after a period of time.

When this happen? If TCE is hidden and you quit ED?
Otherwise, how do you quit TCE?
Please more details. Thanks.

I closed ED because I had to answer a doorbell, but did not close TCE. When I came back to the computer, TCE had asked approximately 15 times if I wished to close it as well.

My suggestion would be to ask twice or three times and then just auto close if no reply is given.

Thanks for the info. There is a timer, that didn't stop. Will be fixed with the next update.

Thank you!

You had mentioned earlier that you were curious how many people found the TCE-Relay "extension" useful. I'd like to specifically say it's a hugely important part of the software for me and I hope that your support for it continues. The fact it only pulls up information from stations you physically have in your database is really a great limitation to prevent it from becoming a "trade anything, anywhere, without effort" tool. I don't mean for this to be insulting, but without TCE-Relay, I probably wouldn't find much use for TCE. It really is that big of an importance for me.

Please don't think I'm trying to minimize your work here - TCE is awesome. How awesome? So much so that I forget it isn't actually a part of the game UI and find myself trying to close TCE windows using my joystick hat switches, which normally close/operate the game UI and panels.

Thank you again. :)

Hello

I have the problem that TCE II is damn slow if not to say it seems to be mostly stalled when I try to interact with it.

I was fine for a long time. Now I "used" TCE Relay and imported stations and markets (no plantes) arround 200 LY from SOL.
Can some one please confirm that TCE II has issues with too much station data?

200LY around Sol there are what, like >20k markets?

Yes, that's definitely too much.

Try to stay below 500-1000 markets and it should work ok.

Well , well, I will do so.

I thought it might be handy for finding engineers stuff. But much nicer is to play in a certain region as long as it makes fun.

fly save

I'm not sure if I've done it before but can planetary outposts be added to TCE ?

I'm trying to add some and it does not recognize it and won't let manual insertion of data, is this normal ?

Sure, you can. If TCE didn't recognize an registered planetary installation, please do the following:
Open Market Database panel and click MODIFY ENTRY.
Select from the dropdown list the market, you are currently.
Check the Sector ID to be the same as reported in the Position Display.
Click onto Actual Coordinates and SAVE thereafter.

Now TCE should it detect the installation.

Hello I've just installed this and looking forward to using it, I have a couple of questions. Really to do with overlap of the different tools, ELiteOCR and EDMC

Questions
a. With EDMC installed, are prices uploaded to EDDB automatically when i dock at a registered station?
b. does it upload to non-registered stations as well, by registered i mean stations on my local DB
c. Does it update my local registered version with prices automatically?
d. If i am using EDMC do i have ned for the EliteOCR

I am assuming that LiteOCR is intended for commanders who do not wish to share their data, so to keep trade routes private.

If i Use TCE-Relay does that mean i will also be updating prices or just downloading prices older than what i currently have for systems in my DB.

Just a little confused as to what is sending information where.

Eventure can correct me if I'm wrong, but...

a. No. Run EDMC separately if you want to do that.
b. See a. Although I'm not sure what you're asking.
c. Not in this version. When you dock, you have to click on 'connect' in TCE. I think in the next TCE version with 2.2, it will update as soon as you dock, no input req'd.
d. Not really. Sometimes a station is not in ED's db, so EDMC can't get the data. In that case, you use Elite ocr. It's rare though, and usually happens on industrial outposts, if at all.

No data is shared using TCE with EDMC. TCE just uses EDMC command line. You only share data when you run EDMC separately and have that selected to do so.

I don't know about TCE relay. I don't / won't use it.

Hey thanks for your reply
the answer to a made b non question.

So it works like this?

I dock (if i have EDMC running in the background it sends all market data to EDDB)

When i click connect in TCE it gets the marketdata (using EDMC) and updates my local database.
The eliteOCR is useful for when i come to something that has not been added.

This is supported with the next version of TCE. EDMC already support this with the command line executable with the last version.
You can activate it at the Options panel. But as always you will have the choice sharing the data or not.

Hi eventure,
I think I need some help, struggling to get the TCE to work for 1,5 hours now and i just can't.
I installed it on my ssd "g", and try to run it, I can get the path and game version set up and detected, the logging is set to verbose.

Then i press launch, it tells me to start ED now, I do that, and the label goes back to saying launch.
I cant acces TCE with the hotkeys, and it starts neither in ED which is set to borderless nor on the desktop.

Can someone help me please ? :)
Thanks in advance

PS: also i might add that TCE seems to be unable to recognize my commander name and ship and so on, even though ed market connect works and displays such information after I logged in and verified

PS2: for some reason I could now see TCE for the first time, but it says PLEASE ENTER THE GAME OR RESTART. That is way better than before, when nothing happened. But i can restart ED as much as I want, it doesn't get recognized

Please check first, if the path to ED is correctly set, here is a guideline: https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=108

Background:
TCE asking you to start ED after selecting an installed version, because some data in the netlog file, created by ED, was missing.
After you have started ED, when TCE told you to do it, additional data is added to the netlog file to let TCE detect your position in space.

So when TCE is now fully loaded and displaying "Waiting for ED, Please start the game", it checks continuously the netlog file, if the additional data is present.
This data are written the first time, when you load into the game an sitting into your ship.

If TCE still showing "Please start the game", TCE is looking at the wrong folder for the netlog file. The file is found at the "logs" folder of your ED installation.
Every time you launch ED, it creates a new file for the session, so please check the "logs" folder, if there is a file for your current session and if TCE is
directed to the folder, where the new netlog file is present.

PS: TCE will detect your Commander and your ship, when using the 'CONNECT' button the first time.
