ANNOUNCEMENT Tritium Depot Refills

The problem is that there is no set date for a fix, and the freebie has given a maximum amount of jumps 'free' but what then? I say just roll with it and regenerate the fuel each tick, that way the upper limit of jumps is not set and less complaints.

Long term it does set a precedent, but short to medium term its either two jumps and back to empty, or some semblance of normality.

Disclosure: I don't own a FC.
Normality? If they had given us Infinite Improbability Drives, tritium wouldn't be an issue. My carrier has mice anyway...

I would agree with this; even a periodic 'Still working on it' every half-past patch day would do wonders.
Communication is a good thing between devs and players as well as playing your own game to see how things currently lie even if it's just placebo at first.

"Nunyuh buh you don't know how to run a game" There's a difference between running a game and interacting with the game's community.

Yes, communication is always good and even if there's not a specific date, if there's a timeframe maybe people can move on to other aspects of the game knowing it'll be a few days, a week, or whatever before they get back to mining whatever it is they need/want.

I wish they could have perhaps done a voucher for 1000 Tritium instead, for those of us with already topped off depots. Free is free, thanks!

@Bruce Garrido - Yes, it would be a nice QoL improvement for the tritium depot to be expandable, based on available cargo space.

1000t of fuel in the depot, and 20,000t of empty cargo space makes ZERO sense.

Could also allow FC's to "scoop" fuel passively in an icy ring with tritium present. 200t (~ 1 jump ) per server tick would be fair.
You may not be aware that you can transfer Tritium (or any cargo for that matter) from a ship directly to your FC cargo hold via the right panel.

You have to be on the FC to do this and in a ship with cargo. What everyone is talking about is transferring directly from the FC onboard inventory to the tritium depot without having to be on the carrier to do it.
I wonder if this wasn't an oversight by Frontier. I can actually see them expecting everyone to have a maximum of 1000 tons Tritium on board at any given time, thus limiting the effective range of fleet carriers. They may never have anticipated people using their cargo space as an extra fuel tank, and if they did, they probably allowed it begrudgingly. Otherwise they would have either given us a larger fuel tank or a built-in method to move fuel, because let's face it, having to load Tritium onto a ship to then unload it and put it in a different location on our fleet carrier is about as dumb of a gameplay mechanic as it comes.

What I don't get is why each transaction between one of my ships and my carrier is piped through the buy/sell filters. This is totally superfluous (why has there to be any cash flow at all as all cash will stay 'in-house' anyway) and just cumbersome. This affects any Tritium transaction as any other minerals as well. I think the only reasonable solution to this nonsense would be to provide special rights to the carrier owner that would circumvent all these filters. Why not, it's so obvious. Is this exploitable, or what am I overlooking here?
This is what the other CMDR was talking about. When you’re docked on your FC go to your inventory menu and you’ll see a “transfer” selection. From there you can transfer to or from your carrier without it involving the commodity market at all (that’s where it ends up, but you don’t buy/sell it). The transfer button is always there, but not active until you are docked on your own FC.

Well...I could accept current tritium rates if bubble follows me ... for example, FC spawns pirates to kill around etc
Either that, or meanwhile I'm so used to their design style that I always expect the most awkward solution. But this is almost shockingly elegant (not exactly intuitive though), who would have thought that?
You're lucky man, missed couple bugs there :D
FC window there was blocking input if closed without pressing "cancel"

My FC fuel tank was full yesterday but now at 80% and I haven't jumped anywhere. Yet another bug and it isn't being topped up as promised.

They only said they were topping it off once, if you were full at the time you didn’t get anything. It’s not a continual thing they were doing. I haven’t had any issues with my trit Fuel being used without a jump. First time I’ve heard anyone say that.
