Two years today. Remember Salome - Text Cyphers

Is there a way to check if it's a glitch or some weird actual change? Would they say that in the issue tracker?

It happened before in 2015 or 2016 and MB said he'd look into it. I don't know if it was fixed and returned or if it was never fixed in the first place. In that old thread Drew said he was sure that Daedalion had been a WW when he last checked.

I think Fdev could be better at story telling and I think they've always missed a trick in not fully leveraging the gold-mine of lore they have at their disposal, but it's their game at the end of the day to do with what they want.

Truth.

I'm glad to have made a contribution and happy to see folks are still referring to what we all did back then (it wasn't just me, but M. Brookes, the devs and many others were involved.)

Aye. And the galaxy is richer for it ;)

Just read something that reminded me about the Cypripedum, Velum, Monile, Vestimenta (Shoes, veil, necklace clothes) section which i assume is associated with Alioth and Daibo.

Integumentum is a word that means 'to cover' or 'wrapping' and was historically used as a term for clothing. It was also used as a description for a type of Figurative Discourse - a veil which covers a true meaning under a fictitious narrative.

It could just mean that the 'story' around the destruction of Kahinas' prison transport was false- as it turned out to be. Or there is some deeper meaning in the interactions there?

Probably nothing but the 'clothing' also reminded me of the article about Aisling from 22-May-3301 where it talked about her gown and also mentioned her activities in the Summerlands (related to Patreus and his invasion of Quivira) .. where "refugees from the People’s Quivira for Equality Party found themselves well cared for "... Incidentally Summerland is home to Darkwater Inc...

AFAIK the only conclusion to that little tale was the derelict Zurara ship deep in the depths of Formidine … Salome has more to tell, but was killed before she could spill all. I live in hope that story will be wrapped up one day. Not holding my breath though :)

Yeah, it was tantalizingly close, but then Salome was killed, and we were left defenseless against whatever is in the rift... (pause for drama)

Guys, please ... be serious: there is NO reason to "thank" FDev for solving a (big) problem that they themselves have caused.

The "thank you" is comic. A series of insults would probably be more appropriate.

I think the expansions into the Witch Head Nebula suggest we're not quite done with that story yet. Remember, that area is exceedingly close to 46 Eridani and the COL 70 Wreaken Construction shipyards.

Salome wasn't warning us about something in the Rift, She was warning us about the thing in Human space, the Club. The orchestrators of humanity for at least the last several hundred years, that control governments, corporations all for their own purpose.

Yes. I know. Did you respond to the wrong post? I wasn't talking about the Rift.

After I read the books they made that very clear. The "horrors" out in the rift are all the expeditions that have been murdered out there by the club. The only thing Salome didn't say was the identities of the members. Other than that the book wraps up pretty much everything.

Drew has since said all the members of the Club have been mentioned in Galnet.

Beyond that, what do you make of the Witch Head Nebula? In my view, the plot's likely continued which explains the call to remember what happened in Premonition.

Did he say say specifically who they were or just that they are in there but we still have to figure out who?

I'm honestly not really sure how to answer your question. I'm not really sure there is a connection between premonition or not. I will say that tactically the enclave is a major shift in tactics from purely defensive to offensive which is of course contrary to the original plan the club had. I really don't know what connection witch head could have to the formidine rift. Do you have a theory on this?
