What do you guys think about the AEOs being a
Stellar Engine?
Merope is an interesting star to point out, because it is a fantastic example of radiation pressure. The nebula near merope is currently (in 2015) being destroyed by the star's brightness. A stellar engine uses this principle to create work from starlight.
The AEOs have been appearing in a enlarging sphere around Pleiades. And at some point they all started turning round, facing the same direction. Like a tether's slack just ran out.
I'm not smart enough to know how extra-dimensional physics work. We have thousands of systems, and thousands more inside the bubble. If the AEOs are linked to witch space (and their distortions effect that), and if they are tethered to something -big- in witch space. The combined tugs of every AEO might drag something out into normal space.
Moving and disrupting them causes a snap back. Snapping them back into witch space. The distortion we see when they 'die'.
Thargoid theories abound, and I'm jumping on it. The Mycoid virus didn't effect just Thargoids, but also their technology. Yes there was a vaccine, but was it given to them in time? They aren't around. I assume not. Surviving buggies still live in witch space with their previous ways of exiting witch space -
gone-. So they made something new. Something that was not only different in appearance, but function. Immune to the virus. A new design. Since there's no easy way to push something ship-sized or bigger they pushed as many tiny things through as possible.
There's so many, we can't stop what's coming.
MB said it wasn't a dyson sphere. Why did he only respond to that one theory out of the hundreds we've posted? The dyson sphere was the first megastructure mentioned. Maybe that was a hint, these make up a megastructure. A very very very large stellar engine. Its the only megastructure I've found that uses tiny points. The force required to tug something through a dimension must be HUGE, and we know a shell of 5000+ stars are all burning outwards, catching possibly hundreds of AEOs per system, maybe more.
So about our stations. We need to stop. They aren't going to burn, or explode, or just shut down. No. Something much worse will happen with thousands of AEOs all suddenly get tugged back into witch space... the station will go with them. Maybe tugging on our stations will only hasten that... thing coming into normal space.
