HELLO, fellow tin foils! The name is CMDR Marco Armstrong, and I am ready to join the tin foils!

Most of the help I provide will be on this forum and the Canonn website I am joining up with now. I am good with audio engineering, astrophysics, and making WAGS.

I will read this thread with my cereal and see how I can help.

I love your work and dedication so far, and hpoe to help move the thread forward, and discover what will happen next.

Well, I better finish putting up this sign.

How did that end up? Sorry - had to bail and sleep. Was fun, however. Very spooky on the dark side.

I haven't seen this suggested yet. How about, as opposed to combing the planets in Merope, we check out the planets in systems the UA is spawning.

I'm currently combing planets in 27 arietis. I'm thinking that with so many UAs in the system, there should be something on the planets as well.
Its a fair point, I have spent time in HR 1185, Landing and take of for a Conda on a High G world is no picnic !!!! But looking up at the rings
is pretty awesome.

So, just out of curiosity, why did it take so long to get an answer on this, when we first flagged it some time ago? People have been strung along because of this bug trying things (and wasting their valuable and limited game time, and that of others discussing it) thinking it was a deliberate game mechanic and part of the UA mystery. That is not right or proper, and I am starting to concur with Silent Pact in general. The same thing happened with the "disappearance" of the Voyagers and speculation about it being UA-related. Obfuscation through deliberate silence around known bugs and unacknowledged changes to internal game mechanics and their effects on previously known conditions (Voyager locations and how to find them) does not equal engaging game play or content. Yet sadly there seems to be some sort of deliberate pattern developing here.

The simple answer is that I missed it. The progression of story is primarily through things that we check via the server. I keep an eye on here as well to see what is being discussed as well, but that's not my primary source of information. I'm not going to comment on false avenues as that's for the player's to explore, but when I realised that you were following one that was because of a bug I let you know.

Michael

Good morning everybody, a few thoughts about some recent comments:

Lots of people in this forum and on Reddit are easily forgetting that we are JUST playing a GAME.
In my personal case it's just the game that I always wanted to play in my life. I'll be eternally grateful to Mr Braben and FD, whatever stupid bug could happen in a so complex and mindblowing game. And I was the first one who noticed the T-ships different behavior, while analyzing the morse, spending a lot of time on it, so... ;)

Perhaps that's because I'm a developer, and I know very well the enormous difficulties of a game like this. You cannot even imagine the ludicrous number of variables a dev should take in consideration to let a game like this work. A game is the most complex piece of software on earth.
Home banking software? A complex website? AhAhAh! Nothing compared to the complexity of a huge game.

That said, go play and have fun, or, please do not play and do other things. No one is obliged to play this game.
Last night I've passed my game time just winging up with a couple CMDRs here, enjoying the views, jumping around with SRVs, and happily talking about the gamer itself. For me THIS is FUN. Whatever bug could happen.

LIFE IS FULL OF UMPREDICTABLE BUGS.

One time again I feel to completely support LordZoltan's undisputed wisdom.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and clarify MB.

Why: "I am not alone in observing that starports where UAs are sold in large numbers rapidly develop severe technical issues. I have therefore decided to establish a research base away from the civilian population, where my team and I can analyse the artefacts without endangering others."

Professor Ishmael Palin, the scientist leading research into the Unknown Artefacts, has announced plans to establish a new research outpost on Maia B1BA in the Maia system.
"I am not alone in observing that starports where UAs are sold in large numbers rapidly develop severe technical issues. I have therefore decided to establish a research base away from the civilian population, where my team and I can analyse the artefacts without endangering others."

Palin also said he would be appealing for help in setting up the new outpost:
"The most efficient way of establishing the outpost will be to use prefabricated components, which is why we’re asking for people to bring evacuation shelters to us here in Dahan. We’re also asking for combat pilots to clear the spaceways in Dahan, to ensure those delivering evacuation shelters to Nelson Works can do so safely."

I do love FD's humour - deliver a snowglobe in Hel?????

Thanks for the clarification :)

Yes, thanks Michael - pretty much as I suspected.

Greetings cmdrs long time reader and fringe investigator here reporting in with fellow foil hatters.

Currently skimming all bodies in the Merope system, so far all I'm picking up is a lot of tea and a few mining / pyramids and intel stations. Early days.

Thinking the meta-alloys and recent CG may be the next thread to follow so after I'm done here I'm off there.

Hello people, I have a question, I arrived yesterday around Maia, i wanna take a look to some coordinates you posted, but I was wondering, how can you go to a precise coordinate not having the possibility to create a Waypoint somwhere.
Flying around and matching the bottom right coordinate it will take so much time...
Thx in advance CMDR :)

Hello there, was nice to wing with you last night!
Right now, that's the only way to do it: flying, while watching the coords on the bottom/right side of your HUD.

Like Zac did.

Well I'm just going to do what some others are doing, get hung up on a small detail that's got no bearing on the quality of my life, and ragequit. Insulting other people at the same time.

Oh wait, no I'm not.

Your anger and feelings of betrayal are your own problems - and right now you're tarring me and every other person here with your brush.

Please take a moment to calm down, and preferably do it where I can't watch you.

Edit - looks like this fizzled out a page back anyway. Ah well, my distaste at the anger is palpable, so I'm leaving this here.

Oh please, spare me the false apologist moral outrage. I don't, and never have (deliberately in any case) pretended to speak for others - unlike some I could mention. What others read into my comments is their own problem. There is an ignore list if you don't like it. Or, you could exercise your own judgement and not read things and just go play (and even ignore the UA from now on, as I will be doing, if I play at all - saw a nice seamless planetary landing on a planet with an atmosphere the other day). I'll just leave this here also.
