You can't scan stations, that's the reason why they were so shocked by the fact it was :D

Out of interest for you all, I've just had a chat with AluminiumAlloy and the S8: 9 he spotted first was in the Alioth system... I don't think I have a permit there, so I might not be able to do recon there tonight

*Edit* And it didn't make any attempt at communication, but did scan him.

It's a typo, and again, maybe you are right. Maybe this post was in the planning a long time... WHICH makes it a milestone on the storyline!!!

The title of the article is: 'Unidentified Spacecraft Observed at Obsidian Orbital'. I think that makes it clear where the scanning happened.

I agree with Huros in fact.
It could really be a fitting way to introduce the new looting and crafting expansion.

We just need a picture. If there are two people in the cockpit, Huros is bang on.

We need to find one. Until we find one, we are just guessing.

I know that we can't. But what if Obsidian Orbital being now "special", and so being scannable, thanks to the huge Alien activity going around there? ;)

Alioth - the home system of New Rossyth ship yard and AAAI. They would never make secret ship designs, would they? :rolleyes:

Theory 1: they sent the data of our ships to some alien facility that copies them and sends them to us for further exploration/contact
Theroy 2: the ships are not copied at all but part of that "mysterious" human group that had contact with the xenogroup (crashed conda etc.) before and are enhanced trough alien technology

And a word of warning for those investigating Distress Calls in the Pleiades. There is at least one instance, where a ship is attacked by at least a wing of around 4 pirates that seem to like focusing fire on you as soon as you get close.
My DBX is a bit more battle equipped (biggest shield generator, reinforced alloy bulkheads) than my ASP (tincan with minimal shields) and I had to boost-wake pretty quickly.

The barnacle sign and the picture you posted do not seem to match, it is almost like the barnacle sign is a disguised version of the other.... :eek: Barnacle robots in disguise!

Well to help with that, some of us have been searching out for candidates planets... Spreadsheet on the front page. It should cut down the number of hours spent hunting.
