Um... unless there are map options, I want my money back

Only one sandbox starter per climate? My map the same terrain as the guys who made a video. I assumed they were randomly generated. Unless there is a way (or soon will be a way) to create your own sandbox map, import terrains, and/or edit the terrain outside the park borders...no thank you. I will get my money back from Steam. As nice as everything else is, replay-ability is definitely something that I need in a game.

Thank you for your valued feedback on Planet Coaster

A scenario creator is a much requested feature - hopefully a future update will add this [happy]

I would recommend you refund. It's not a certainty that these features will be implemented, however as stuk rightly says it is much-requested. Plus of course if you refund it you can always keep an eye on the forums and buy it again if you see features you want added to the game :)

This is not how to get a refund, you have to contact support, but if you have played the game for more than a few hours you might not be able to

The lack of maps is pretty disappointing, there should have been multiple map styles for each biome. River, coastal, etc.

I'm sure this is something they'll improve over time but for now it's very limiting.

I don't think a scenario creator would give us the ability to change the background terrain. That would be great though!

it did in rct3

You could change the background image but with PC there's only one terrain backdrop for each biome. More terrain backdrops would be welcome; beach, coastal cliffs, river, canyon, etc.

My wish would be to see a setup where you pick a biome then pick a backdrop.

This might be a personal thing again but i have to defend the game here again...

We asked for a very flexible terrain editor and we got one [wink] So why not create your own maps exactly the way you want them? Or download them from the workshop? This way there are endless maps available in pretty much every biome.

As for a scenario editor i might agree, a lot of people have requested this.

I never asked for the terrain editor to be made more complex/advanced, I thought the terrain in RCT3 was fine and time consuming as it was, now it can be impossible to work with. I would really prefer having a grid system for terrain.

I always thought curved paths would be a nice feature to have, but I certainly did not want the original grid system to be replaced with the newer system. And I also never asked for fast pass queues, or a number of other features that were added.

Isnt that exactly what people are asking for?

so instead of playing the game, I'll just stare at other peoples work (well thats basically what I do anyway)

I'm not sure how you did that [wink]

this is highly highly needed along with far more advanced options like in RCT3

Ha? Just go to steam and click refund. Even if you played it.

Even in the apple AppStore I can refund apps that I don't like!

Then i don't understand because isn't this what we already have? We can already make our maps any way we want it??

Like i stated before you can make them yourself?? But it seems like you don't want them to make them yourself, and also don't to use other's maps. What exactly do you want then?
(genuine question, it's not ment in any way of sarcasm as i really don't understand)

the OP was asking for the ability to have snow in the alpine map, and sand in the arctic map. He also wants to edit the terrain outside of he park borders. This was something that was possible in classic RCT and many people have asked for it. I'm not sure what you find confusing, as this does seem like a pretty annoying "limitation" (iv read about the limitations and a work around should be possible)

the OP was also expecting some originality or uniqueness between the maps rather than each one all being the same flat square shape. Remember the levels in classic RCT? They all had varying shapes with purchasable land (something lacking from PC)

I didnt start this thread, so I don't know why your asking this question. I enjoy peoples creations, and I wish the game could be improved greatly. Hopefully in the future, when the game has more content like RCT3, I'll be able to enjoy spending more time building stuff myself. But downloading from the workshop doesnt fix the problem posted in the OP

As for variation i stick to what i said earlyer... you can make stuff yourself and/or download from the workshop so there is -endless- variation.

Editing terrain outside of the park borders is indeed something i like to see as well. That part i can understand... and im even agree on this. Same goes for the textures... altough Frontier already stated they want to add this as well but it isn't done (yet) because of techical reasons. Hopefully they find a way to do this in the future.

the variation from the workshop has nothing to do with the ability to mix sand and snow

the "techincal limitations" have already been discussed to death. Can you show proof that frontier stated they "want to add this but it isn't done (yet)"?

Dear fellow Frontier Community Team; please re-read what primem0ver posted about and try again. He/she is talking about the terrain outside the one we can edit. There is only ONE set terrain backdrop for each biome rather than a diverse amount like a river or canyon cutting through it, a beach or coastal cliffs or maybe an island, etc. etc. What primem0ver is saying is that it's very limited and is disappointed that each biome is just flat land with one backdrop rather than a variety of landscapes and backdrops.

It's a legit complaint IMO.

Really if we were just able to design our maps in sandbox, and after saving them have the option to open them in challenge mode I'd be happy! I'm not a fan of always starting challenge mode in a flat open field. It'd be nice to have diversity and I think that could be an easy solution.

Flexible Terrain Editor?! Let's see...

1) VERY limited Terrain Paints per Biome

2) No Grid Based Terraforming for hard angle, precision sculpting or raising/lowering square terrain plots (like RTC3)

3) No Height Marker overlay option for terrain

4) Each Biome feels like a desolate planet... I know the game is called Planet Coaster, but most theme parks are not in the middle of nowhere. Even Disneyworld Parks are connected to hotels / resorts. RCT3 at least had a Cityscape / City Skyline backdrop option

I think that the current Biome system and terraforming systems could be a LOT more flexible and customizable.

Yes, the sandbox maps all start the same. How ever, you can go into the Steam workshop and download maps that have been terraformed by other people and build your park on that.
The same is true of the Challenge parks (and if you say its not, you haven't been looking in the workshop properly, there are at least 10 pre-terraformed parks for the Challenge mode, I know.. I made them.)
.
We could use a scenario editor. Preferably one that can import height-maps. But, I can wait... No rush.
.
PC Does actually use a 'sort' of square mesh terrain system. It doesn't have the grid lines because that would be too constraining for the freeform style they are going for. The terrain tools are designed to soften out hard edges, but if you are smart you can work around that. That said, I think an option to turn on the Grid/vertex geometry of the terrain would be nice for those people who need a little less freedom.
If you missed the Mesh lines.. They are easy to see of you point the Camera directly South, youll see the repeating pattern of the terrain texture. Once you see it, youll be able to get away from that nasty freeform smooth edged feel and go back to working in a predefined constraining Grid system. The tools are there, you just have to use them.
Terrain high can be a problem to start with. But again, there are ways around that.
.
This isn't RCT3.5 This isn't RCT4 (for good reason).. This is Planet Coaster. This is v1.1.2 and this is still inside its first 90 days.
