Ungulate Talk

I love caprines, I would have never guessed we would now have SEVEN!

Honestly I just need the musk ox to be satisfied now. I'd still like to see the Aoudad, chamois, etc but I can live without them.

I have 6 am I missing one?

Dall Sheep
Alpine Ibex
Alpine Goat
Takin
Markhor
Bighorn

I don't see why "antelope" can't just be monophyletic while including most caprines and all bovines. An ibex isn't even that different from an addax when you really look at them.

do you have to do this "well actually" stuff in every thread?
I firmly believe that sometimes it's okay to challenge conventional wisdom to make common sense get rid of inconsistencies. I care about this a lot, and I hate just letting things sit by the wayside just because it's what people currently believe. Someone has to innovate and talk change, and that someone might as well be me. I've been passionate about setting records straight for years, and I don't plan to change until I see my goals through. Hell, I even used my platform to tell people about unrevealed animals from the base game that got data-mined because I didn't like how tight-lipped Frontier was being.
I get that it feels pedantic.I think a way to re-position to stance is just learning more about how things in the world work. Learning is process and exist beyond dedicated facilities and should be normalised across everything. Educating people is something that's always been an interest of mine, regardless if people listen. That's just what I do.
I've probably gotten more flack from people than most people on this side of the Frontier forums. But that's not something that's going to stop me.
So in essence, I'm somehow who always wants to see change. Change requires girt and persistence. That's why I always speak my mind.

I got to be honest I really think for Ungulates in PZ their biggest issue is actually the company that uses them the most. Ungulates are awesome animals and hoofstock are important in zoos all over the world. But it’s really hard to get exited when we have another goat. Frontier, for whatever reason, loves ungulates but uses them as the oddball slot. It might have been fine at first, even I didn’t know what a Nile Lechwe was! But once you get this far into the games lifespan it’s hard to ignore the other parts of the roster. As @Birb(。・ө・。) mentioned we have been asking for new monkeys and birds for awhile, and while I am happy to get some in the new DLC, it has been years!

Even if they are good choices from a building perspective (we now have a warm weather goat) Frontier just grinds them into the ground until no one wants to see them. I get the obvious reason why, they are probably easier to make. Still it doesn’t help when people do clamor for other animals, but don’t worry! In the next pack we can still expect another medium sized hoofstock.

For a while it has been antelopes, now it is goats. I’m still waiting for more Deer, or maybe some Gaur, or shoot. Give me an Onager! Or a Chevrotain? Some people still want another option for our zebras and giraffes and I can blame them. It’s really hard to be excited for ungulates in this zoo game when we get the same stuff over and over and over and over and over.
