Most Massive Rocky Planet - 17 Earth Masses

Where did the option for the largest ring system go?

I've found a Gas Giant with a ring system of a maximum diameter of 5,176,774 km... the largest I've come across so far. Planet: CD-51 102 2; Ring: B Ring; System: CD-51 102.

HIP 40430 A 16 - lightest star (non-brown dwarf) at 0.043 solar masses and coldest star (non-brown dwarf) at 709 K

Hip 63835
3 black hole's unfortunately cant see them or scan them, guess they haven't been implemented yet:(
17 Stellar bodies including black hole's and brown dwarfs
Hip 63835 A has a solar mass of 74.8711! one of the invisible black holes is orbiting it almost in contact with its surface
No records this time, just some experience...

I was able to explore 2 out of 3 black holes in your system. The close ones are quite easy: you just have to get to about 0.17 Ls from them but better switch off all non-essential modules because there is significant tendency to overheating increasing with proximity (but in P Puppis my ship was even pulled out of SC by its proximity and survived both directions in and out - take into consideration that it was a very light black hole, though). 3rd one is close to impossible as it's so close to the blue dwarf (it's a dwarf for O-type stars) that my ship was pulled out of SC by the star when I was still 2.04 Ls from the black hole, severely overheated (by the star), being still too far to make it explored and having over 2 weeks of constant flying with max speed for Cobra to get close enough to do it. It could be done because ships are not overheating the way they do in SC and I even left my ship flying toward it for the night catching some sleep (why I risked such a stunt? because I am an explorer :) ) only to see it at 2.03 Ls from the hole with the game locked. However after I relogged I was at 2.03 Ls so I managed to get closer and could continue but apparently I am not enough of explorer to devote so much time to it (and I would have to repeat such locks because the hole is too fast in its orbital movement to be caught in normal fly). I wonder if I should ticket it.

I watched some nice flares...
NIu9B6Y.jpg
but I went there hoping these 2 close black holes to give some nice performance with gravitational lensing and I wasn't at all disappointed - just the opposite: there are the most beautiful sights I have seen in ED so far. Pictures don't give it justice so I don't have any. I wish I recorded it and now even words fail me: imagine eg. that 2D nightsky suddenly looks like it's 3D and Milky Way, although not distorted seemingly in any way (it could be distorted as well) starts moving against its background as your ship moves - this doesn't sound like much but it was so extraordinary experience I would recommend it to anyone. This system should be a place to go for every commander and it's only 275.46 Ly from Sol! Great, simply great...

Edit: I would apply for a new category: Oldest body - HR 4996 at 12,823 mln years

My plans for today to have a new record (I have found a colonized system at least 1.5 times farther from Sol than the previous one) and get a leading position in the lavian brandy challenge (I scooped some back even though I lost 3 T of them in a vicious fight with an Anaconda NPC pirate I willingly submitted to in interdiction - unresolved as we agreed to part ways when my hull was down to 50% but spilling cargo and his to 34% but still quite vigorous) have been spoiled by the game as it has crashed and cannot retrieve cmdr data from the server so perhaps to improve my mood I would apply for a new category: youngest body - bodies of HIP 40430 at 1 mln years :)

Edit: the game failed me today as never before since Alpha but I hope I will be back tomorrow with my not so secret plans fulfilled...

Do we think this will ever be beaten ?
That's almost certain. There are larger ones known and what can be said about unknown?

Heavy Hole, like in Spinal Tap.

Sure this can't be a record for long though.
The almost unexplorable hole in HIP 63835 has over 13 solar masses (I can't get into the game because it bugged on me thus I can't provide exact numbers but it's between 13 and 14) so you have to try harder. I can tell you though that nothing will beat Saggitarius A* but it's bugged now as it shows only 1 solar masses having over 15 solar radius - it could be seen here

I've just started exploring, I love comparing my findins with this list, however I have some questions:

how do we know how many bodies are in a system?
Is "Suitable for Water based Life" eligible for "Smallest/Largest body with water-based life" or does it say there is life?
Should I avoid scanning Asteroid clusters?
Which systems tend to be the most profitable?
Does it matter where I sell my exploration data?

@Ender - yeah, Sag A* - but only one poor soul has ever been there and lived to tell the tale!
Aditi - colonized, explored system 380.6LY from Sol, there must be more ... :)

Ad 1. We count them? ;)
Ad 2. If you find a planet that's "Suitable for Water based Life" and there won't be life it would be a record in itself - compare planet's designation with its description.
Ad 3. That's up to you. It certainly is time consuming and I'm not sure why they added this option in Gamma.
Ad 4. That's still not determined by players as far as I know and perhaps it's done this way on purpose. I think systems with life should be most profitable but I'm not sure it's this way now.
Ad 5. AFAIK, it doesn't matter, when profit is taken under consideration. In Gamma I haven't seen any change in reputation by selling data but it probably is a bug.

Aditi - colonized, explored system 380.6LY from Sol, there must be more ... :)

Fehu - colonized, explored system 468.65LY from Sol

Quince 480.33LY

Don't hit! Don't hit! I yield! ;)
You see, that's a spirit - it looked like you just needed a little motivation and in less than half hour you were able to beat us all. My find was Fehu so you won with Quince. I am still unable to retrieve my cmdr data from the server without wiping my save so I can't compete with you but I will certainly check your Quince when I am able to. Would you show us some pics, please? :)

Some delicious Quince....

This is just armchair exploring you understand - there's a few more lonely colonies out there, need to go visit them, maybe they are mirages, lol.
Seriously beginning to wonder if this might actually be the farthest.....

@Ender, do hope you get your save back soon :-(

What's the highest amount paid by Universal Cartographics for system data? I got 42,927 for Beta Lyrae.

I got a little over 78,000cr for COL 285 Sector RY-H C10-24 here's the pic of the system:
9Ii6euM.jpg

I scanned all the planets around the first star, this system stood out to me as COL 285 Sector RY-H C10-24 A has 17 non-gas planets. could be a record?:)
I also found this system:
PHuatq5.jpg

It has two helium gas giants, I've never seen any others out there has anyone else?
The 3 planets are ice planets that also have helium atmosphere types.
LHS 531 C 1's moon is a ice planet with a neon atmosphere type and the gas giants moons are also ice planets but with no atmosphere's.
@Ender hope you get back on soon, and why don't you reset there's going to be a wipe in 10 days or so anyway?

Patau, can you explain what you mean by single rings and multi rings? Want to be clear as I carry on my explorations... :)
