Need a system name to add it to records, I guess it has 102 bodies including star? is it HIP 102466?

Yes, it is HIP 102466.

SCREENSHOT_0419.JPG

And I did Detail Scan each and every single body in there.... Took quite a while...

would love to see a system map screen shot if anyone could post one

I didn't get one... But it does scroll and scroll on (Due to the Full Screen/Letterbox bug, I'm forced to play at 1080p Res) And unfortunately I got burnt out on Mining Searching (Went to the far end of the 'Sausage' and jumped system to system detail scanning and searching for "Metallic / Pristine" Rings... Little did I know it was the Stellar ring clusters to look for, not the Planets! Doh!!! When I realize that, I traded in my 'A' rated 28ly Asp and now am Bounty Hunting in a 17ly Cutter. :) (Plus I was kinda burnt out on the binge exploration)

Here are some 'less than stellar' systems I went through... They were pretty unremarkable (in terms of finding Metallic Rings and Pristene resources, but again, I didn't look at the Stellar Ring Clusters):

I've been doing the same I also just realised that you cant find metallic Rings and stellar rings only seem to work in populated systems, I think.

Adding New records to Op, lots of new records today well done to all and keep them coming!

P.s Snuggie will get System with most Bodies record and Ender most rings, gas giant and I'll give him the biggest non gas giant as I missed counted!

Nice thread. I just passed by Glesting on a little excursion to the frontiers. It's a B4 V with a surface temperature of 27,703 K. Equipped with a mere basic discovery scanner, I didn't find any planets there though. They might have been consumed in fire, I guess...

Did anyone count the planet with the most moons? I've seen 11, but can't remember what system it was. I'm sure there are more though, otherwise Saturn and Jupiter will be unique, unless FD decides to cut down their numbers. Would be nice, nevertheless, to see some irregulary shaped moons too though.

Lol it was me that started this post too! I left that one out so someone else could get it, oh well I guess I will post it up now:D

I will add Highest federation, alliance, independent system population

How would you prove the population exists? Many systems in the galactic map have no station or outpost even though they are supposedly populated and have an economy.

Holy crap, have you people been to Mizar?
Brown dwarf planets with rings! (Mizar 8)
Or how about a planet consisting 100% of metal (Mizar 2), with a thin atmosphere of silicate vapor?
Mizar 4 has an atmosphere with a density of over 8000 atmospheres, consisting to 100% of silicates (if I understand correctly it is basically gaseous rock. Magma steam!), temperature: 5671 Kelvin!
Also, they give real good money for superconductors. Which is nice.

Oh, and Mizar 13 B A. A moon of a moon of a gas giant. Waht.

Yes, stellar rings in unpopulated systems don't have clusters but there are definitely unpopulated systems with planetar metallic rings - I am in one of them and there is Gold, Palladium and Platinum (mostly Silver, Indite and Bertrandite).

It's too subjective to be a category in the OP, but I've got what must be a contender for the most compact system: Binary stars, six planets, a moon, two stations and an asteroid belt all within 220ls... Mistae. Such a cute name, too.

How can that be a star?
http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astr...omers_have_found_the_smallest_star_known.html
According to that article, the smallest possible star should be around 0.07 solar masses.

Nice article, Medusa 4 is a brown dwarf so it can be smaller then 0.07, Maybe I should put a new category for Smallest Non brown dwarf star?
If anyone wants to suggest any other categories to add to Op I'll be glad to add them.
Also check this article out, I wonder if there will be anything like this in ED, would love to Visit it, only 450ly away!

added pic as its so amazing!

And I have a new one: HIP 110056 D 5 - 370 km... There are 3 planets in this system that a smaller than Mizar 16 C :)

Dang it, I thought I might hang on to that record a bit longer... better keep searching... :D

I thought that when I saw the article this morning. :)

I've added a few other records I'm sure I hade posted up previously but they weren't there today, maybe I deleted them or didn't press post when I finished update.
also added hottest star for rollo, sorry missed your post cmdr!

just going by what the galactic map says! maybe in future releases will get to see the where the population live

New hottest star:

Lawd 86 A

24,082 K

Was hoping I might win back other accolades... instead I just beat myself... :D

Never mind... hadn't noticed it'd been updated... :(

Regarding the closest stars and stations...

I noticed that in iBootis, Mahler Stellar Research Lab is about 2 LS from iBootis D, as is the planet Mahler Prime. Do they count towards the closest stars, or are we looking at the main entry star?
