Yes, but I'm almost sure it's not "aahoi"
I hope some MORSE man could enlighten us...
Shame, it was also the 1st greeting used in a telephone call...I think.

Good morning CMDRs!
I don't want to become another "daygobah" case, so I'm bringing some proofs to you
Finally, here is the 4th mysterious sound the UA emits, in a continuous loop of about 5 seconds: I've isolated and amplified it.
For reference I'm talking about it here, not repeating myself again.
Activate the loop function at the bottom of the page, to hear it indefinitely. Tell me what you hear.

To me it seems MORSE code indeed! I'm not any good to decode MORSE but it seems something like:
.- .- .... --- ..
that decoded means "aahoi" that means absolutely nothing to me.
But an expert's ear could find it says something else: perhaps a system's name?
This is the recording I've isolated the clip from:
https://soundcloud.com/azerusrtifici...plague-ua-test
The sound is starting at 1:30, when the camera is very close to the UA, and repeats itself in the aforementioned loops of 5 seconds.
atleast it sounds similar, if it is ahoi, then it might be a joke xD

Are you talking about the cricket-like sound?
Or the fly-like buzzing?
If so, then I genuinely can't hear anything morse-like there, or a series of sounds whose length could be interpreted as such.
Not being difficult you understand - I am listening on a Nexus 5, tho, and the speaker is bad - so perhaps it's just me! I'm not writing it off, though, as the first time Morse was suggested in the block we now know to be Morse, I was exceedingly sceptical!
That is a pretty bad sample, in my opinion because the main sound i hear is the cittering(i hope you don't talk about that). Isn't there a sample without chittering, for example between the purrs or something?

Yes that could be
But, now that I've showed you the sound I was talking about, I suggest to listen to the full recording, to see if I've misunderstood the loop and it is longer.

at 1:30 you said?
i cant even hear it xD
all i can hear there sounds like a station transmission, but nothing from your sample^^

Actually, now I have headphones on there are even a few more sounds in the soundscape, Ill try to describe them with words
- The howl, the most obvious and loudest noise, seems to be at least two variations (ooowaaahhhooowahhhooooo)
- The chitters, which are the morse code (chitter-havent-you-worked-it-out-yet-chitter)
- The low pitched purrs, which are like slowed down trombones, there are two distinct tones, but the tone increases over time (purrrrrr, puuuuurrrrr)
- The buzz, a constant background noise, sounds like a radioactive bee (ooooooweeeeeeeooooooo)
Then the other noises I heard:
- A higher pitched squelch, starts low and goes high, like the noise an eyeball might make when crushed under a thumb (thwaarp)
- A higher pitched chitter-like sound, falls high to low 'slowing down' over about a second, like a wet tongue tutting, 'tickerticker, tick, tick, tut tut tut tut tut tut tut' - I think this one is interesting, as I think it starts earlier then when it actually becomes clear. I take a closer listen and see if I can isolate it. (in between working)![]()

The morse part of that sound clip says "PORT".
As for the "radioactive bee" as Grumbleweed puts it ... that's clearly just a loop of background "buzzing", which is clear for the purr one you linked a little further down.
port?
ok...that could be interesting...
This is getting a bit frustrating!![]()
Here is a second clip without the chittering:
https://soundcloud.com/riccardo-sallusti/ua-4th-sound-isolated-clip-2
More than a bit.
IT SAYS PORT BECAUSE RATKING RELEASED IT NEXT TO A STATION WITH THE NAME "SOMETHING PORT". We've been here with the morse side already. I was commenting about the specific "not the morse part" request, and that background noise is just that - a repeating loop of high-pitched background buzzing.
It's that sound, like a station transmission, but I've heard that sound even when the UA is in the middle of nowhere and no stations.

Unfortunately there is still one Purr in it, but there are always purrs in the middle of the sequence, even more than one:
I've selected a clip where the Purr is low.
EDIT: I have to say that I have a very sensible ear, being a piano player since the age of 7...
I'm not as sure as other cmdrs that it is a background noise.

was it...but i thought the morse only tells the name of a stellar object, not of a station? or does it count as one?
