Galaxy search knows not of it. =(
Damn, thought that might be the case. Shame.

Scanner, it's gotta be =P

Nav beacon, it's gotta be =P
Some of the locations in the early novels are just planet names with no system name. Makes locating them almost impossible. Like Cirag. Xezaor is also significant, but again, a planet.
Thinking about getting involved in this. Just need more free time.

If it's been confirmed that the artifact is repeating the name of the nearest celestial body, wouldn't the next step be to take it to places of historic significance for humans and Thargoids in ED lore? This is not my strong point, so people who've played the original games should chime in.

I.E. what happens when you take it out to the Voyager probes?
Just another thought.
I've done a bit of exploring (ahem, been to Sag A and back =p).
When out exploring, the prize is an Earth-like world.
Do we know anything about the Thargoid homeworld? Perhaps the UA might enjoy a day-trip to a Thargoid-homeworld-like world.
Thanks, but to save you and other commanders going through the same processes over and over, I have already added these to the wiki (gentle hint: read the first post where the wiki is linked!)
I also marked the ones I know to be [player submitted], but I may have missed some. There really hasn't been much Galnet related to the UA which wasn't player submitted once you take that into account. Which makes me think that these 'really obvious clues' they have given us, aren't that obvious at all. The only exception I can see is the Wings Trailer and there are some potentially some juicy clues in there:
- As referenced earlier: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=141038&p=2189874&viewfull=1#post2189874
- They taking the UA to Leonard Nimoy Station
- They are in California Sector HW-W C1-7 when Ishmael gets interdicted
(I'm not ignoring the morse thing, by the way, I just don't understand it and I can't hear well enough to be able to tell if its a thing or not.)
As of a week or two ago, the Voyager probes are gone - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=159562&highlight=voyager
Sorry, but at what time is EKURU A 1 in there? It doesn't seem to be at the end, and I'd like to listen to it, compare it with the generated sample.Information gathered.

COMMANDERS WANTED: We have a reported recent sighting of a UA convoy, we do however require additional participants in the search. Anyone who could spare some time please do jump into the conversation and get direction on what are considered current best practices in locating/retrieving UA.
*Latest Developments*
Theories still abound in regard to the UA, however at present efforts are being focused on the Morse code seemingly present in the audio. Below is a good summary by Lord Zoltan (thank you Lord Zoltan) which covers things nicely.....further updates will be posted as they happen.
The only place hints I think we have right now are from the Wings trailer - Leonard Nimoy station and the California sector where the action takes place.
Just another thought.

I honestly doubt this is Thargoids. As I believe Drew said..."There are far worse things out there than Thargoids". They also wouldn't need scanners or waypoint beacons - they've already had plenty of encounters with humanity, and their technology at least one level above ours.
I'm positive this is something else entirely, and I'm hoping that whoever/whatever it is turns out to be so bad that we have to ask the Thargs for help.
Just another thought.

Here ya go.

It has already been taken to Earth right? (or Mars =p)
I did more searching in Timocani last night & today. Lots of SSS & WSS, none that were the right type.
I'm of no help on the Morse front, but I find it believeable. Maybe the UA was taught Morse, maybe it heard the distant pings of many nav beacons as it was carried around & learned them, maybe it's FDev's audio designers having fun with us.So I'm relegated to helping search SSS/WSS, picking through lore & formulating crazy theories.
On the topic of FDev having given us "obvious clues". The only ways I can tell we've been given clues are:
* the hints on the old forum thread
* the behavior/sounds(/design?) of the UA itself
* GalNet stories
* the Wings trailer
* (maybe) One of the official novels - I've only read Reclamation & Out Of Darkness
* (unofficial) Drew Wagar's hints - EB,P & .,.. ......,. ...
* (unofficial) Maybe something Kerrash has said
So I've got another crackpot theory for the thread. One of the only other major unexplained incidents (other than the illnesses) we haven't covered is Halsey's disappearance (https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/26-MAY-3301 & https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/27-MAY-3301). Maybe Spaceship One was carrying a UA (fits the SSS profile - one big Fed ship, several escorts) & it caused things to fail/go crazy/as secretly-planned?
Maybe we could try taking it to Azaleach? I couldn't find a reference to the system they were in while trying to jump to Azaleach within the GalNet posts. Saga is mentioned, but as a destination unreached.
