So once we have the UA dictionary, we head out somewhere unexplored, turn on the UA then broadcast RAXXLA into it.

One or more Thargoids will then show up, finally at last they've found it!! At which point we trigger our carefully prepared ambush, the goal being to capture a Thargoid exploration vessel.

Well if only.

It is kind of hard to know what practically can be done with such a "dictionary". It would be nice if the UA could serve as some sort of Rosetta Stone, say the morse being Human and the purrs being Thargoid, but if the purrs don't repeat (afaik no-one has ever heard them repeat) then I struggle to see this as a possibility.

So. Anyone cracked it yet? :)

Please define "it" before we discuss further!

Sod it, I'm just going to ask - I have just one question for you!

A while ago you said (and I am paraphrasing here) that there is "something left to discover".

Given we now know the chittering is stylised morse representing the name of the local body, is what you said back then still true?

Frontier did not spend all this effort in making a wild goose chase, I would imagine quite the fanfare when the truth is uncovered.

BTW Are we even sure it is morse code? ;)

Don't you dare stir up that hornets nest again! Yes, the chittering is morse!!

Our only question now is, what is it for...

(p.s. are you pulling a Drew on us and don't know anything really?)

Hi Kerrash,

We think we have got the Morse code part sorted, can you please confirm that that part is correct and also if there is more to find or if we have gotten it all.

If there is more, then just a confirmation without saying what it is would be useful.

Don't do this!

Sorry, just messing around. Although I did tell Drew a few things he didn't know last night....

Yes there is more to it, I will see if I can get FD to drop another hint ;)

For the record, I think the effort you are all putting in is awesome.
I really wish I could help out but I guess that would be cheating ;)
Good luck, stay vigilant commanders :D

Thinking about getting involved in this. Just need more free time.

If it's been confirmed that the artifact is repeating the name of the nearest celestial body, wouldn't the next step be to take it to places of historic significance for humans and Thargoids in ED lore? This is not my strong point, so people who've played the original games should chime in.

I.E. what happens when you take it out to the Voyager probes?

I will travel, just need destinations to go for testing.

Well it not worth traveling until we can identify something in the sound signal that tells that this place is special and this space is not. And given the size of the galaxy something that point us in a direction.
