Has anyone compared a video of a ship frameshifting with that of the UA disappearing? Are any of the effects/colours similar? I can count on one hand how many times I have seen another ship actually use its FSD in game (I tend to play on my own and explore), and I honestly cannot remember what it looked like now.

I found this - its not the same but there are similarities - don't forget, we're talking about different technologies

I find this interesting - from about 1 min mark - its star trek warp effects over the years

I would love to do that , but I don't know own a UA after hours of looking, I haven't even stumble onto the correct convoy instance and the people who do are about as willing to give it up as my cat is willing to give up his toy mouse, or Gollum willing to give up the ring.

I really would laugh if the answer to this mystery was to listen to the UA die(enter FSD) and then follow along, it would be the ultimate test of how willing we are to solve this mystery that we have to give up something that taken us hours to get.

You've got a short memory, someone sacrificed two UAs only yesterday.

Okay, so maybe the artefact yields the source of the gravitational anomalies they deduced from the flight recorder data of the ships that were accompanying Halsey?

So, like, this is a point. I said a while ago whether the UA identifies capital ships, but there are none in deep space to test it, thinking that it might help simply find the wreckage.

But, actually, we know the Morse broadcasts the nearest body, based on mass (& therefore gravity) attenuated by the distance. If there is a dark gravitational anomaly out there, and it has an identity, then the UA would identify it.

Back to the Dark object idea again, for which we have seen no other evidence in-game... Bah...

Or maybe it can find Voyager 1 and 2 for us...

Arthur blinked at the screens and felt he was missing something important. Suddenly he realized what it was.
"Is there any tea on this spaceship?"

I think you ought to know I'm feeling very depressed.

Night CMDRs! Happy aimlessly wandering! ;)

Oh yeah - you know we both share that pet idea; it's just, well, neat ;)

I believe the ship's bottom left panel matches the UA morse assuming the ship has detailed scans on all objects, exception being deep space => system.

What I mean is that I think the ship is essentially detecting what the UA is detecting, be that frame of reference it's working in, gravity, mass etc...

I checked the manual the other day, I could not see anything on what that ship panel is specifically showing.

What's the point, not sure but I would tend to say I think the ship would probably show any anomaly that the UA can detect. i.e the number of object types detectable by the UA but not the ship is zero!

IT'S HALSEY.

I turned on my PC, loaded Elite, and said to myself: let's do a short trip to Furuhjelm I-645, it is the last place the President was seen alive, before he jumped.
Let's see if there are more chances to find an UA...

I was in Bhritzameno as usual, route planned, little more than 100ly to destination.

I was sat bad, talking with my wife, children playing around me, reading the forum on mobile...
After 4 or 5 jumps, while charging my FSD for the next jump, I see it: A Strong Signal Source in front of me: the first of the Night.
I stop the FSD charging. Entered it.

The UA Convoy... too many things went bad, I was not prepared being my first SSS of the night, yesterday I forgot to update my fire groups after some outfitting changes, and everything went wrong. I mean, I was able to follow the T9 jumping alone and all of that, but it took too much time to scan the wake, all the other ships shooting, and me with the wrong fire groups, Shield Cells not working and so on...
When I jumped after the T9, I found two low wakes in the system: I had to chose. I chose bad. :D

A suggestion: leave Timocani where it is. Come near the place where Halsey Disappeared. I think the UA appears in that circle of 250ly around Azaleach: that's the region of space Mic Brookes was referring to.
And another suggestion: do not stay in one system waiting for SSS to spam. Jump, from a system to another, and the first SSS could be the good one.
I've found other 6 convoys in a row, doing like that... Not a second UA btw.

I'm leaving for my holidays tomorrow, for the next 3 weeks I will not be able to play. But I will follow this thread, as usual, from my mobile. Less writing, more reading.

But let me say this:
IT'S HALSEY. I FEEL IT.

And the solution of the mystery is in the expiring UA.
Sorry, but that's it. Accept it: a sacrifice to know the truth. All in-game, all about listening and watching.

My test ranked n.2 has become n.1 now: I've updated my list:

you should really consider it. Btw, do what you want.

Flying to the sea.

Serious? Ah so sorry man. =(

Well done for expanding the list of systems - more precious knowledge.

I agree totally about the expiring UA - get a frame wake scanner on it.....might not be the end of the mystery but it might well take us one step closer to a solution. Although, I suspect that if you succeed in following the UA to Raxxla? you'll get monstered and destroyed within seconds of arriving. If you survive the warp....
