Unpopular Pack that You Would Buy

A plant pack, that consists of 100-200 new plants, like tulips and dandelions, that aren't in the game.

A scenario pack that brings back the voice actor cast and has no timers anywhere (and maybe a few more steam achievements for me to fight towards).

The Ducky Saiga Pig pack that contains the saiga, the mallard duck, and the Red River hog. Just take my money Frontier.

I'm with Swjosdotschka. I'd probably buy any new pack, even if the animals weren't one's I'd been craving. It's always fun to have something new to play with.

Heck, I'd buy that plant pack, Pentoleaf.

Another one I'd buy would be a props pack that included decorations, items one would see in a real zoo, signs, and finishing touches that are still missing.

I'd buy a European mountain pack

Alpine Marmot, Pyreneean Chamois, Marsican Brown bear, Western capercaillie
Ocellated Lizard

But as EU pack was a scenery pack it would be more of an animal pack
So three extra animals would be

Red deer, Pine marten, Mountain hare (lepus timidus) would use the same color variation than the arctic fox.
I think it would be very unpopular and controversial as some are more or less clones :(

There's a lot of improbable packs I'd buy. Still praying against all odds that we will get a Southeast Asia pack with a theme. I also think a reptile house DLC would work, although most habitat animals will be clones and exhibit species aren't that popular. Next to that, I wouldn't mind a pack for freshwater fish (though marine species seem more popular) or birds that can be kept outside of aviaries. Finally, I think Central America could have a regional DLC.

Southeast Asia DLC:
  • Lar Gibbon
  • Philippine Tarsier
  • Lesser Chevrotain
  • Gaur
  • Reticulated Python

Reptile House DLC:
  • Nile Crocodile
  • Asian Giant Softshell Turtle
  • African Spurred Tortoise
  • Water Monitor
  • A large number of exhibit species

Freshwater Fish DLC:
  • Arapaima
  • American Paddlefish
  • Black Pacu
  • Asian Arowana
  • Redtail Catfish
  • Ocellated River Stingray
  • Koi
  • Red-Bellied Piranha

Water Birds DLC:
  • Mandarin Duck
  • Shoebill
  • Mute Swan
  • Grey Crowned Crane
  • Great White Pelican
  • White Stork
  • Scarlet Ibis

Central American DLC:
  • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
  • Northern Tamandua
  • West Indian Manatee
  • Caribbean Flamingo
  • Rhinoceros Iguana

I actually think all those packs would be pretty popular.
I would pay good money for all of them (Maybe less the SEA despite the gibbons)

ok
(e) means exhibit, (b) stands for both, which means the hypothetical feature of some species being able to be placed in both exhibits and habitats
Japanese pack
  1. Japanese giant salamander (b)
  2. Japanese serow
  3. tanuki
  4. red fox
  5. Japanese cave gecko(e)
islands pack might not be unpopular, but my picks might be a bit unorthodox
  1. north island brown kiwi
  2. coconut crab(b)
  3. tree kangaroo
  4. nene
  5. rhinoceros iguana(b)
  6. Victoria's crowned pigeon
  7. Tasmanian devil
  8. sally lightfoot crab(e)
Madagascar pack
  1. fossa
  2. aye aye
  3. sifaka
  4. radiated tortoise
  5. tomato frog, chameleon, or Madagascar hissing cockroach(e)

A scenario pack! And not the timed ones! I'd love more scenarios, or the ability to design our own scenarios. I like the challenges. I struggle to build anything when I'm faced with a big empty space, though I have loads of ideas, I'm just not great at building. But I love the management and challenge of the game, and looking after the animals/welfare etc.
This, this, one thousand times this! I love the career scenarios, and this gameplay style works best for me. (I don’t know how many times I’ve played through all the various Rollercoaster Tycoon versions without ever touching sandbox mode!).

I have a lot of those 😁

West Africa pack:
Serval
Patas monkey
Giant eland
Ground hornbill

Antelope pack:
Scimitar oryx
Addax
Blackbuck
Giant Eland or Gerenuk

Deer pack:
Pere David’s deer
Tufted deer
Marsh deer
Pudu

Canada animal pack:
NA porcupine
Racoon
Turkey
Musk ox
Walrus
Arctic hare
Mountain goat or Black bear

India pack:
Sloth bear
Indian Leopard
Lion tailed macaque
Nilgai

China pack:
Yellow throated marten
Markhor
Golden takin
Snub nosed monkey

Brazilian monkeys:
Howler monkey
Spider monkey
Uakari
Gold tamarin

African monkeys:
Mantled guereza
Baboon
Diana monkey
Red-capped Mangabey

I would buy all of these packs. The deer one is the only one I would not be too excited - but would still buy.

I love animal packs, and the more species the better, so for me an "unpopular pack" would be a scenery only pack. I would buy, in an instant, a pack that had a bunch of much needed zoo build pieces!

  • Buckets
  • Rake
  • Broom
  • Dumpsters
  • Wheelie bins
  • Food prep shelves with tubs
  • Small pieces like locks
  • Food chutes
  • Animal doors (especially with option open/closed) - pulley activated or rollers
  • Animal runs - prebuilt and piece by piece
  • Staff trucks (even if only decorative buggies, etc)
  • Realistic modern
  • Alternative donation box designs
  • Realistic fences
  • More barrier designs
  • More keeper gate designs
  • More guest gate designs
  • The option to pick different combination of rails/paths/kerbs
  • Overall modern, realistic build theme

I really notice not having these pieces when it comes to building detailed, realistic back of house areas. There are a lot of large pieces that will kind of do, but that are not to scale, and we can build our own items but they have very high total piece counts. Having purpose made back of house items (some for large hoofstock like elephants, hippo, giraffe; some for large carnivores like lions; some for small carnivores like fennecs; aquatics like seals...) would make such a massive improvement to building.

Another pack which could be not very popular due to having "reskin" animals but that I would love to have is the Iberia pack:

-Iberian lynx
-Barbary macaque
-Red deer
-Eurasian brown bear
-Pyrenean chamois
-Eurasian otter
-Red fox
-Mallorcan midwife toad (E)

Oh yes, give me this please !

An addendum: an American south (NOT SOUTH AMERICA) pack would be great but would also probably be mostly reskins and not useful for European zoos. Species like gray or red fox, bobcat, American river otter, and American black bear, plus more unique species like skunks, opossums, and raccoon. Also, foliage, like the fan palm, palmettos, and magnolias.

As someone who would buy pretty much any kind of pack for this game excepting a spider or centipede focused pack, I'd have no issues with a focus on an animal family. Even antelopes which I'm probably wanting the least of any kind of mammal.

Canid additions seem to get the most flack so here's my canid pack:

Maned Wolf - pretty much the only canid with a large amount of support at this point.
Black Backed Jackal
Bush Dog
Golden Jackal
Coyote
Bat-Eared Fox
Tibetan Fox
Wolf Spider (Exhibit, why not lol)

I wonder if people would be up for these pack themes :D

I would love an exhibit animals pack, which introduced new sizes and shapes of exhibits, the capacity to alter the contents of the exhibits (so, say, you could have either Africa, Southeast Asian or South American plants in the tropical exhibit), the ability to 'turn off' the exhibit boundaries and turn them into a null barrier and of course include plenty of new exhibit animals - the reptile and bug houses in zoos I visit tend to have more species than anywhere else in the zoo, which could be better reflected in the game. Maybe it could also make managing exhibit animals easier - you set the number of individuals you want and it automatically removes the excess as they breed; certainly not many invertebrates would be micro-managed as much as they are currently.

Perhaps even more unpopular, I would genuinely love an 'Asian Small Cats' pack, with the Asiatic golden cat, fishing cat, Pallas's cat and sand cat. Or make it an animal pack, and add the mainland leopard cat, caracal and jungle cat, with the panther crab as an exhibit animal.

I would also love a 'Ground-Based Birds' pack. At this point, I almost think I would rather this than a flighted bird pack - I simply prefer the ground-based birds like gamebirds, waterfowl and crowned pigeons to many of the flying birds. If aviaries did come, I would almost prefer the focus to be on birds that could fly but were also mainly ground-based, like waders (avocets, jacanas, curlews and the like), water birds (ibises, spoonbills and egrets) and maybe things like the kea and striated caracara.

There are also some localised regional packs I would like - near the top of my list is an 'Annamites Pack', based on the hugely diverse and threatened wildlife of the Annamite Mountains in Vietnam and Laos. The Owston's civet would be my most-wanted species, with other places potentially taken by the Vietnamese sika deer, Edward's pheasant and giant Asian pond turtle if realism is wanted - if not, then potential animals could include the saola, Annamite striped rabbit and Yangtze giant softshell turtle. Other options could include a gibbon and the red-shanked douc.
I have since had a few more ideas, including some extensions on previous packs.

One I would genuinely love that I am sure would be wildly unpopular is a pack for 'Unusual Asian Ungulates', that includes four-horned antelope, Indian spotted chevrotain, mainland serow and banteng, plus the buffalo leech as the exhibit animal (it has an ungulate in its name, so in my mind it counts).

Regarding the exhibit animals pack, I would actually love to get multiple such packs - a 'Reptile House Pack' and 'Invertebrate House Pack' would be essential in my personal wishlist fiefdom. Each could have appropriate scenery items such as statues, plants and new building pieces and each pack has a new exhibit feature (for example, the Reptile House Pack could include new exhibit sizes, while the Invertebrate one includes either new exhibit shapes or a diorama feature). Both packs would have a maximum of 25 species, of which a maximum of 4 would be habitat animals (in the Invertebrate pack, that would be a single species at most), another maximum of 5 would be walkthrough exhibit and the remainder would be traditional exhibits.

Also, I'd love a simple 'Guenon Pack', containing the De Brazza's guenon, Diana guenon, Wolf's guenon and either moustached guenon or Northern talapoin.
