Unrecoverable error on transaction server

Please forgive me as I am sure that this is already in a thread elsewhere but this website is very difficult to navigate and I have no other way of ensuring I'm seen. I am in the middle of a very long run with a stack of missions all heading to Colonia totaling about 7.5 million credits and I have only 4 more days to complete this stack of missions. I would be quite upset if I receive any fines for failing these missions simply because of this error. I have attempted to open a bug ticket to no avail, when I finish the form and complete the captcha I am simply sent back to the main page with no confirmation that the ticket has been opened and no ticket number whatsoever. If anybody can direct me with what I am doing wrong or put me on the right track with getting this issue fixed I would be immensely gracious. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP :(

I'm not sure I understand. You took missions of what kind; transporting people to Colonia? Delivering good to Colonia? Or did you take missions that are supposed to go to other systems in the bubble, and then left for Colonia after completing them? What exactly does "unrecoverable error on transaction server" mean? Does that appear on your ship's transaction board exactly as written? If you're transporting goods or passengers, I'd check your inventory board, make sure you didn't accidentally jettison them. Also, did you run into any pirates/interdictions? You may have had them stolen from you with a hatch breaker. Check your cargo hatch, make sure it still is undamaged.

If all those are fine, I might have some bad news for you. If you take a mission that, for example, has you scanning an installation, and then head out to Colonia without returning to the home base to turn in that mission before the timer expires, you'll fail it. If your mission is to transport passengers or goods to Colonia, and you don't get there before the timer expires, you'll fail it. Those aren't bugs, that's you not meeting the deadline. Sometimes missions will update and ask you to get there sooner for a bigger reward, but those are optional, and you just won't get the BONUS if you don't make the new deadline.

I hope you get it figured out and don't lose the credits. But even if you do, just realize that in ED, there are always more credits to be earned. Just keep scanning systems on your way, you'll get a nice fat bunch of credits just for that when you turn the data in at Universal Cartographics.

Fly safe, Commander!

I am guessing that what you are describing is an error box that comes up during play and that you crash back to the main menu? The same thing happened to me a few times today as I head for Colonia ... usually on exiting jump, which is a bit scary when you consider you are heading straight for a star :D. I am hoping that it is nothing to worry about in terms of missions - it is just a connection error between our local machines and the remote servers that Elite runs on.

try a hard reset dude - hold the button down that is lit up on the front of your console until it turns off your system.

failing that I'd try opening a support ticket, one of the gracious mods will provide you with a link I'm sure as I'm too lazy for that :(

edit: I just read you had already done the ticket thing, hopefully it's as simple as a reset

Ok, firstly, thank you all for the prompt responses, I truly appreciate it. I realize that in my haste to post this thread and have the issue addressed, I left out a few pieces of key information that were included in my ticket attempt but I forgot to include here. Artistik, they were data transfer missions (all of them), the reward for the smallest being about 700,000 credits. So I am certain I wasn't robbed of the mission materials. Even if it were cargo, I'm not sure I've ever heard of 'accidentally' jettisoning them without any knowledge of it. I have had one or two interdiction attempts but they were deftly avoided. I am also acutely aware of how the mission timers work, and I accidentally forgot to include that I was afraid of failing the missions in a few days time while waiting for my ticket to be addressed. Dallas Sukerkin, you are exactly right, it appears we have been having a nearly identical issue haha. It was an error message that would accompany a black screen saying to press A to return to the main menu. TGAM, one piece of key information I happen to have left out was that I had done a hard reset of all my devices as well as uninstalling, and reinstalling the application. So thank you all for your responses again, I appreciate how prompt it really was. It makes me feel good about the ED community and I salute you all. I finally managed to get the ticket into the queue, and I'll be waiting for a response from Frontier. In the mean-time, I will be removing this thread in a short time so as to ensure you've all had a chance to read my reply.

Thanks all for the help! o7

The transaction servers have been particularly bad these last few days. The error message simply means that your Xbox and Frontier's servers have had an issue connecting so it's dumped you out. There should be nothing untoward with your missions or content...it happens fairly frequently. :)
