thanks for the update ... but in the uk its 13:26 and still not able to connect to game :( ... REMEMBER AFTER UPDATES SWITCH SERVERS BACK ON AGAIN lol ... YOO HOO ANYONE THERE ...... "your only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"

Michael, I can confirm now that Eranin Party is still broken. Faction is at 97% influence right now, but only missions from Brotherhood of LP 98-132 are available at stations|outposts in Eranin. No wonder it's influence is slowly dropping day by day. We held it over 99% for month with Critical Boom and Expansion statuses, maybe longer, even with these broken missions, but it didn't have any effect on galaxy history and expansion process was ridiculous - it required hours to find a single mission from Eranin party in Asellus Primus. Is this situation going to be addressed in later patches?

It was causing most of the mysterious deaths inside stations - the stations have doors that were causing collisions and they should always be locked open.

Michael

hi Michael,

and the natural question that comes in my mind is: why stations have (invisible or visible?) doors ?

a modified future version or an early now abandoned version of the stations entrance doors ?

just curious..

maybe when we see stations under construction or repair the doors will be locked - Frontier maybe thinking about in advance about things like this?

Well after 1.06 I still have the unacceptable Federal mission for the Sol permit. I already have a Sol permit from being a Founder. I am ranked Midshipman. I have Sol, Beta Hydri, Plx 695 and Founder world permits after 1.06.

Any fix for this?

No, the fix is to make sure you get the permit - you can ignore the mission for now.

That's by design - if the party has no influence then it can't generate missions. We will look at maybe putting a floor in so there's a better chance of missions beinbg created for powerless factions.

- Added a safety net so that permits awarded on faction ranks (Imperial and Federal) will be forcibly added at the rank above if the player hasn't been able to access the mission for whatever reason

Ok, can someone please clarify for once and all; Is this or is this not a "mission". I have traveled to these systems and looked in USS's, station and outpost bulletin boards for these "communique", and found nothing. If these are just permits and nothing else, then please change the wording so it does not imply the need to go do something and to do it right away. Also stop referring to it as a "mission". It is a permit.

If it is supposed to be a mission, then it is clearly broken. It does not show up in the left panel and there is nothing to find when you go to these systems.

Otherwise, good job!

hi Michael,

and the natural question that comes in my mind is: why stations have (invisible or visible?) doors ?

a modified future version or an early abandoned version of the stations entrance doors ?

Probably because they where part of the early design proposals:

1.2 ENTERING A STATION

Player Aim: Flying through the space station’s aperture to the stations interior
  • When a player is given clearance they are communicated with and informed they have a short window to pass through the stations entrance
    • Player ships are always given priority over AI ship in the waiting list
    • Players can pay for premium docking rights with some stations to get priority docking
    • Entering a station when not given clearance causes the player to receive a fine
  • When the players window is open the station will open its docking bay doors to allow the player access to the stations interior
  • The player must fly their ship through the stations aperture and into the station

My guess is that this was later scratched because doing all of the things originally planned simply would have taken to long and slowed down the gameplay to much. Some people are still complaning about having to wait for the blast shields to lower or the pad to be raised/lowered/rotated after all. If players also would need to wait in front of a entrance door for it to open, then go in to the airlock, wait a bit more for the outer door to close, the dock to pressurize and the inner door opening there would have been even more complaints (even if a bit awesome ;)). So they just added a shield there instead.

We can still pretend the door are needed if the shields for some reason fail. Later there could also be stations in quarantine due to outbreaks mentioned in the DDA. We still need to close the door in these cases.

You could also reasonably expect a station to close it's doors if it came under a serious attack (I'm thinking capital ship, not a couple of cobras).

- Stability fix for memory allocation on textures

I hoped this meant what I thought it meant, and it does indeed seem that the stuttering from certain planets on my NVIDIA card is no longer an issue. That's one of my major bugbears down. One of my minor ones was also stealth squished, as the select destination cursor now resets to the top of the list.

Keep up the good work! (Especially if it means fixing the chat system!!)

Edit: Issue returned after exiting game (it didn't fully exit, and I had to use Windows Task Manager to close it) and restarting. It persists after a reboot, too.

Well, thanks for the update surely, but this is 1.06 already. There are some very annoying gameplay bugs that are not being fixed and have been around since gamma or beta even, why are they not being addressed?

- When taking on a kill mission and an alternative is offered after several kills have been made, the kill count of the mission is reset to 0.

- When docking the pad numbers are frequently not visible.

- Interdictions by ... nothing? I keep getting (several times each playing session) interdicted by some mysterous force that's not showing itself in the instance. In other words I get interdicted, but there's nothing there.

- When docking the pad does not recognize my presence, the navigation mini hud does not show up.

These are bugs that surely most players experience and many tickets must have been posted! Please FD, fix them!

is anyone else having issues refining ore ? iv tried purging what i had reseting everything but deleting char and restarting issue only started after update says cant communicate with server

I have been trying to get missions out of The Dark Wheel for a bit, but there influence is at 0%. At Shinrarta any way.
I'd hate for them to disappear all together as I'd like to think they have some future part to play in the Elite story.

That will be fixed in 1.1 - unfortunately it's quite a big resource change that isn't suitable for inclusion in a minor release.

There's a known issue with AI belonging to another player's session interdicting a player and then not appearing once pulled out of supercruise - this is fixed in 1.1.

I tried to put together a thread with developer statements from various threads. Perhaps you find it useful:
