Update 1.1.3

Seems the shiny walls and the old victory are still gone.
And we are happy for that!!! That ugly old plastic Victory should not return... ;)

The current Victory is like it should be:

Well. It seems there are currently 50 - 50 coaster with and without inversions. So not realistic i think, because i cannot do the other 50. I think the Flying Aces Rollercoaster is an example.
And it has overshoulder restrains. So it is only a matter of time a wingcoaster will do a full inversion in my opinion.

Interesting you choose a picture of the Halve Maen cosmic cow, which resembles more the old victroy (not pirate). So you also want it back, which is nice.
The new one resembles more the Bounty from Drayton Manor, unfortunatly in game this leads to a major mistake in my opinion.
Same ride (Intamin/Bakker) different stern, different position in the park.

Hi Everyone,

Been playing yesterday a few hours with the new update, and for me it's a clear improvement in better balance on peeps desires / money availability.

Considering nearly all the peeps wanted ballons/hats/mementos before the update, here is what changed for me (sandbox park with 7k peeps (6 coasters, 7 flats, iron horse transportation)

· I shut down 3 shops (from 10)
· Shops are harder to be in profit like before
· Baloons still take the majority of the peeps desires. Hats are far less desirable. Mementos are hardly wanted. My proportion (though I have to analyze it better and perhpas changing some shops locations is : 4 baloons, 2 hats, 1 memento
· Cut off drastically items prices (balloons from 16.90 to 3.90) to have enough buyers to mantain employees

As a result of this changes : guess what?

¡ Guests have more money to spend on rides and food / beverage !

Incredible huh?

In fact, after 1 month ingame, I was forced to :

· Increase the price of my two flumes to 24.99
· Increase the lenght of the queue of one flume + increase the lenght of 2 queues of coasters which were always at 1/3 of their capacity
· Increase the price of the fastpass from 4.99 to 9.99 (i got a collapse on two really long fastpass queues, never seen that before!)
 
Sorry that these got left out again - let me try and explain why this happens. Development of Planet Coaster continues (with lots of exciting things that I can't talk about right now) on a day to day basis, and changes are committed to source control in the "trunk" (or "mainline"). When we do a "smaller" update like this - the "double point" updates, we use the previous update as a base and selectively merge (or " cherry pick") fixes for specifically highlighted issues, or new features on to the new update from this trunk. When we do a "big update", such as the 1.1 Holiday Update we take this from the trunk, including all the fixes that have been made up until this point.

The reason we don't merge everything on to smaller patches like this is that it takes a great deal of time to merge and test all of these changes. Basing every point update on the trunk isn't really practical either as again the testing burden would be much higher, and we'd have to go through and remove lots of in progress features that aren't currently ready.

So this is why the new signs have been missing from updates - they simply haven't been merged to the "1.1.x" patches yet, but will be included in 1.2.

As someone who uses source control (Git)on a day to day basis, and is used to branching and merging their code, I can vouch for how complicated and time consuming this can be! That said, shame those branches can't be:

Main -> Patch 1.1.3 -> Flatride -> 3d model
-> sounds
-> signs
-> other assets etc​

and then merged up as one, so no assets get lost in the process, though.

Always nice to get a lesson on Source Control in the forum, though I would imagine in a situation like Planet Coaster with the number of devs, the merge conflicts are a MAJOR headache! I wonder if we could sneak someone inside and fork to a new repo... "CHC -> BetaTest 1.2.0" [cool]
 
I think the harder mode is very easy after the update!? [uhh]
With 1.1.2 it was very hard to get money at the beginning. Now there are many guests in harder mode and it is very easy to get much money. There is no more challange at harder mode since 1.1.3 [weird]

No, don't be so manipulative! I told you already I don't want that old one back! The current one is like it should be, it's eacactly like Halve Maen. You don't know what you are talking about.
Lucky this is no issue, because it won't be changed anymore...

I do wish the lift hill top of the Tiamat was was like a normal lift hill top, the game has it a super sharp angle to go flat and you cant make a nice arcing top
 
Well, I was waiting a new update to come and remove finally the collision. Instead, this gives us a new flatride with an embeded name on it. Great! A new ride even less customizable.
I'll go back to my cave for another month, let's see when Frontier decides to let us customize our rides and parks (there are still lots of missing 3D models). Let's hope they don't charge us for their new flat rides or 3D stuff.

But hey, thanks for improving the game, im sure someone will come back and play PC thanks to this update.

If you change it's ride colours, the name disappears. I discovered this when I changed the ride to white for my snow themed park, the name on it disappeared and there was just white lights there instead.
 
anyone else see a tiny download happen just now (for me that's Sunday afternoon 2pm in california PST) ?
it seemed small, but steam insisted. build 1.1.3.38610 here, but it might have been that before, i didn't look.
could this just be a re-download of some corrupted local copy of a file instead, or anyone see it too? thanks.
ps-under a couple of MB.
 
thanks guys. tyczj, I hadn't thought of workshop items - steam didn't explain, but the download was at the Planet Coaster game listing from the Steam Library tab, so i thought game, but perhaps it was local maintenance only.
 
@Periocus The whole ride needs to be the same colour. Not ideal, but a quick fix if you want to have a different name. I just call mine The Sizzler [happy]
