Hi coaster friends!

Just a quick point update from the amazing dev team to fix a few issues that were found upon the Spooky release yesterday! Thanks for your diligent bug reporting and feedback. We're already blown away by what you've been doing with the new Spooky content, so please keep showing off your new creations as well!

Update Notes

Ride/Coaster Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed an issue where the lights in the In-Descent's vents would disappear
  • Removed the option to swap coaster trains
    • This feature is not quite ready - we will have more information at Frontier Expo on October 7!

Scenery Bug Fixes

  • Fixed some missing geometry that was missing from the Spooky Book Pile

Will there ever be more spooky content in the future? For example, I would love a Universal Monsters pack with Dracula and Frankenstein figures, and an animated Dracula in coffin like RCT3. The spooky pack does have a vampire coffin but no vampire in it.

The Universal DLC packs are completely separate from the Spooky Pack, since they are licensed DLCs.

Note however that Frankenstein by Shelley and Dracula by Stoker are in the Public Domain now, not copyright so one could make ones own versions of that monster and that vampire, without looking up Peter Boyle, or Bela Lugosi for instance and not infringe on any Movie Studio copyright.

cant we have a generic vampire or frankenstien monster?
why didnt the BttF or Munsters have an animated prop (or entertainer) of Doc Brown and the Munsters!?!?!

Licensed content is lame in a creative game, unless they are animated characters, we didnt need licensed DLC to have a BttF park and we already had cars on the workshop, the DLC should have been split in 2 instead of 3, one for non-licensed cars and one for licensed animated characters (would have been so much better that way)

but the munsters DLC does have spooky content in it like the bat cannon. Remove the theme of the cars and what is left in the DLC that is actually licensed? Not one animated prop or static statues of the licensed characters.

The other items include: A bunch of tires, special effects (like fire), some flags, and a single window, each in different kits, not to mention repeated objects like the green smoke. Why should those be in 3 separate packs? It should have been 1 pack for car stuff, and 1 pack for licensed content. I know you said you can't bundle them because its 3 separate contracts, but small kits dont benefit the workshop. The spooky DLC is definitely better though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teOBpwv3Pp4&t=8m58s

Thanks for the continued hard work.
I'm looking forward to being able to swap cars. It will streamline the menu, which is great.
I hope there will be a fix for the physics on the Hoax ride soon so cars slow down when free-wheeling back uphill. It would be great if we could toggle whether descents are free-wheeling, like they do now, or powered so we can control the speed.

if licensed dlc content is lame
than you don't buy it

for me it is not lame only if we can use it alot is the question, because it is a few pieces.

if you look how rct was done whit six flags, that was a part of sponsor i think from six flags. than make severall parks and coaster from them . and free commercial thay have
that makes it alot beter than the orther dlc's

but wo knows what thay make

well I haven't, but neither have a lot of people

what I said was, licensed content should be for animated characters (either props, statues, or entertainers) thats just my opinion. I would have liked to see a Doc Brown or Munsters entertainer. Now with the spooky stuff, we got a solid white ghost that is not even colorable. The construction kits would have been cooler if they were basic car pieces, race cars, monster trucks, construction vehicles, bulldozers, cranes, etc. instead of characterized prebuilt cars that are not easily used for other things

I played RCT 1 and 2 when they were new, and I never cared much for the expansions of RCT2. The pre-made parks were neat to look at for inspiration, but that was about it. The scenarios were better in RCT1 though. In RCT3 every map had the same square shape, and we lost the ability to purchase land, but at least they made up for it with a complete scenario editor and an awesome Water park expansion pack

and free commercial thay have

free advertising makes it better? thats kind of my point.... with RCT3 they had Hersheys stuff in it, and it was kind of lame. A lot of rides and shops were "reskinned" to have advertisements on them, and the only thing I liked from the hershey content was the one coaster that it had. Now with PC we have advertising for Back to the Future, but there was already a BttF park available on the workshop before the DLC was released. Theres parks with Nintendo, and Tron, and Starwars... those companies should be happy for the free advertising, but if say Nintendo or Starwars were licensed into this game, obviously it would be expensive and we wouldnt even get animated characters.

but wo knows what thay make
many people are hoping for a water park expansion, and I don't mean to sound "negative" as many people get upset for criticism, the anniversary update is going to be great but when I look at the workshop and see only 300 blueprints available for the licensed DLCs, it makes me wonder why they released content in that way.

Add an entertainer to each of the licensed DLCs and I bet sales would triple for those kits [tongue]

Since Frontier hasn't shown the ability to break peep groups up for rides (look at the Hoax), I wouldn't get my hopes up for water slides.

Grim statement, but possibly true. My hopes were heightened by the rumors of a Planet Safari, I've been hoping PC will get the big water expansion soon, and then they could announce PS as a stand-alone expansion that could be compatible with the steam workshop, but then they announced JWE and it seems like PC is taking longer to get to where it should be, but well see in a couple months if they have any big announcements for next year.

PC has a lot of potential though, I mean I don't see anybody making a better game anytime soon. Supposedly Atari has plans for future RCTs (lol :() but I doubt Frontier will make a PC2 anytime soon, when they could just keep adding to this game, and they have said many times they plan on updating this game for many years. They did mention the possibility of parking lots in one of their livestreams, maybe there could be a "Lagoon & Resort" expansion alongside PC & PS, but we would need much faster CPUs!

I bet it's because of the way they do crowd congestion. Groups behave as one unit in their fluid simulation so maybe splitting them up messes with how that functions and behaves. Hopefully this is something they'll be able to fix down the road.
