Update 16 Deployment + Release Notes

Ya, I think this means there aren't any crash sites, beacons, and possibly non-human signal anymore. I am currently in a large system that I had previously fully scanned with DSS with an abundance of all 3 of these POIs. Located about 1000Ly outside bubble. No sign of anything anymore.

I searched several other systems. I guess these POIs are truly gone gone gone! Or maybe just super rare now.

No, they've just been moved/restrained to nearer the Bubble (and Colonia) rather than way out in the Black. It's in the patch notes.

is anybody else having keep map issues? started yesterday and again today. 's' suddenly becomes system map instead of throttle down as an example. this has never happed in serveral years of game play. checked my bindings and they all as usual. is this likely a problem my end?? thanks you!

Haven't used the issues system much, does this ticket still need lots of people to vote as normal, or do Sally's hypercare interventions on patch day promote this on to Fdev's radar regardless?
Play it safe and add support to the ticket if you have experienced the issue yourself. I haven’t been in my cutter in months so can’t honestly support it.

All my bindings were working normally yesterday, was this your first session after the update?

There is a thread with a link to the investigation here.

I will add input when I get back to my carrier if it isn’t fixed by then.

Hummm...
I clicked the link to contribute to this issue and noticed that it was marked as DUPLICATED.
I wonder where the 9 pages of contributions will end up...
I take about 1h15 for me, WHEN it worked (most of the time I had received the NO TIME SLOT message).

After the update, the SRV broke down again, if you fill a pack of objects (metals) with a cargo bucket in the SRV, then the warning "The storage is full" stopped appearing.
Besides, I may be wrong here, but where did the day and night change on the planets go? It just doesn't exist. Or all the planets are now like Venus, where one revolution is equal to an Earth year.

There is no point in talking about broken starlight, FDev simply does not notice this, but I would like the intensity of illumination of planets with starlight, which is always the same regardless of the distance to the star, to be corrected somehow.

I was very pleased that the excessive number of POIs on each planet was finally removed, it was really annoying.

Hi @sallymorganmoore Hope you had a good weekend

I don't know if this is an issue since Update 16, I haven't played in a while. But the region names don't seem to be showing on the Galaxy Map. Or am I doing something wrong please?

I'm planning an expedition to particular regions so it would be nice to see them on the map.

Have a lovely day.

have you tried Mitterand Hollow? - easiest planetary body to try day/night changes

Do you know... I honestly can't remember if they ever actually did show up there at all. They do in the Codex though.

I'm wondering if U16 did something to the ADC. It struggles getting me out of Coriolis starports now - frequent up-close-and-personal encounters with the toast rack.

I think I'll switch it off.

I had some severe issues last night with Odyssey/Live. I was unable to approach any landable planet in Odyssey or Horizons live, the game would CTD on approach.

After a lot of faffing about checking for overheating etc I eventually managed to get Legacy to give me a DX9 not installed error, reinstalled my (Nvidia) graphics drivers with the clean install option ticked & it fixed the problem.

So if anyone else sees this issue try resetting any custom display/3D settings to default & if that doesn't work try reinstalling the drivers. I guess the new launcher changed something in the background windows environment that update 16 relied on & something I had set to custom in my display settings caused the game to eventually fall over.

This was my first Odyssey session since Update 16, but strangely I had been in the game for several hours without problems (including salad hunting on several planets) before it started to CTD. First two times it crashed then the third time let me land, then the next system/planet and a third it crashed every time.

Not used the SRV in ages so ca’t confirm or deny this.

I haven’t seen this but one would need to check the rotation period and login at appropriate times to be able to confirm.

When I last looked Venus rotates in 254 days (retrograde?) and orbits in 225 days none of which equals the accepted value of Earths year at 365.25 ish days

Still absolute empty mission boards in systems that send out the message that there is no further help needed. Also they don't need any goods in the market. Is this by design?

Venus has a 2/3 orbital ratio with Earth.

Lots of planets in the game are tidally locked, that's a function of the stellar forge & won't be something that changes in a general way, it would have much more noticeable effects on the galaxy (ie it would break a lot unless it was tweaked very, very precisely).

Yes the moon I was one was locked in a 78 day orbit/rotation and I am not prepared to wait days to see if day/night is broken as @BiruzoV was wondering.
