Patch Notes Update Update 2.3.01

Its much worse than anything in any previous version. Including the Asp X's over bright spot lighting issues you mentioned.

I've actually mothballed my Anaconda for everything other than my Power Play Fortification hauling, which I still need the ship for. But for anything else in the game, I am using other ships instead. The lighting issues are so over the top, it ruins the experience of feeling like you are out in the BLACK. There is no such thing as black when you are flying the 2.3 version of the Anaconda.

If these ships actually produced reflections off the cockpit glass from interior lighting, you wouldn't be able to see outside of your ship! All you would see would be an Opaque reflection of the dashboard.

I've mothballed mine, I got my asp out to go see roidbases/geysers/lava sprouts and a few other things with some mates, got back into it, left the station, got about 5km away and just said "screw this" turned around and went straight back, that was a week ago and I'm not touching it again till it's fixed.

And that's annoying because I've spent quite a bit of cash on paint jobs etc for it, and a lot of time engineering it.

I'm now engineering an gunship for combat, time I'd rather be actually doing combat, but I can't, because the conda brightness is so bad I can't see half the contacts on the HUD because they merge into the HUD!

lest we get punished by not being given the same access to the game as everyone else, amirite?

Speaking as someone who owns the game on Xbox One. I agree with Ian 100%!

Your misguided little crusade is becoming embarrassing to watch at this point. The point update for the XB1 will be released when it is ready! All I can deduce from your non-stop whining over this is that you would have preferred that the PC version of the patch was delayed until it could be provided to YOU at the same time.

THAT is ridiculous and about as entitled as it gets!

Thanks for the fast response.
Addresses all the tiny annoyances for me in the overall very cool 2.3 experience.
And consider dumping the salt... too much of it isnt healthy. o7 Frontier :)

Yep... My sentiments exactly. Its frustrating to have a ship that you use a lot, and that you have invested a ton of time and $$ into, that is rendered all but useless for the type of gameplay you use it in. All because a developer decided to go mucking with the lighting controls without being willing to follow it through if problems were introduced.

Then having to deal with a bunch of personal insults from the usual Apologist camp when raising the FACT that this problem keeps getting passed over. Their only argument being the claim that it isn't that important?

Well...

I don't use Multi-Crew.. I could use the same tone deaf argument and say that none of the bugs in MC are important because "I" don't use the feature, and thus are not effected by them.

Lets just say that my ignore list has grown considerably as a result of this thread today. ;) I don't have time for that level of tone deafness.

You can't ignore something you haven't yet seen.

I'm done with your personal insults and other uncalled for . Welcome to my ignore list.

Not knowing about something is the very definition of being ignorant. You didn't know about it because you didn't see it. How is that being insulting or worth putting me on your ignore list?! I even apologised in case it insulted you. Anyway, have fun in your echo chamber.

The player journal has been in since 2.2 AFAIK.

Well, either i've turned blind as a mole or we have different definitions of "in game". I don't consider some file, buried in the depth of the installation directory, "in game".
Been through all panels and key settings, nothing like a player journal, log or something like that to be found.

Well then you haven't been reading either.

I would prefer that the event this weekend be delayed till AFTER xbox is patched.

I would prefer that people understand that rather than blame MS's certification time for applying a fix to an FD break.

I would prefer that FD kept it's promise to update all platforms at the same time.

If the worst they could do is take away content you don't have.. that's not incentive to stop.

That tells us that Ian and the FD aren't even paying attention.

That's a very fair comment.

But what was advertised is as in as it's going to get at the moment. Future plans maybe?

And yeah, it's main function is very much out of game.

I hope MC is fixed, or at least performs better.

Tried it this morning (about 10 hours ago) and there were no ships available (not surprising given the time of day) but more importantly there were 2 (exploration and mentor) to which the mentor just crashed out immediately whereas the exploration worked for about 30 seconds before crashing out.

:(

Your beef is with Drew W. then. Frontier had nothing to do with that decision. I read through that thread, and it looked to me as if the majority of the opinions was to DELAY the event, but Drew decided to go forward with the 29th.

My guess is that he talked to Frontier and found out that this patch was going to come out today rather than earlyMay, and based on that new info, went against the majority opinion in his thread and kept the date. He knows that a lot of XB1 players are looking forward to that event as well, so the fact that he kept the original date informs me that he knows something we don't about the XB1 patch release date.

My prediction is that you will have your 2.3.01 for XB1 before the 29th. If you don't... THEN you can fill a thread full of whining posts.

So hang on a min.... you are here complaining in an entitled way yet you just complained at someone else for complaining in an entitled way despite that their complaint is far more important and urgent than your own as they can't even get into the game at all. Riiight.

Quick question... why are you writing 'apologist' with a capital 'A' ? Are you defining an apologist as someone who, in this case, does not agree with you entirely or partially ? Who are 'the usual' ? And with those people, do you just add them to your ignore list ? :)

It's not quite the best attitude is it? Especially when, what it all boils down to is a lighting issue on a spaceship in a game.
Maybe I'm wasting my words on your here if I'm on your list too because I don't think it's as big an issue as many issues that were fixed (or partially fixed in the case of the galaxy map) in 2.3.0.1.

Might be a good idea to take your frustration off the forum and have a break for an hour or so.
