Wow 8 pages of whining over a connection issue. I have a great idea, its a computer game switch the computer off go outside have a deep breath marvel in the real world get a cup of tea and a custard cream and chill.

Well given that these are the forums for a game we play I'd dare say that post is highly redundant, even more so than what we usually have. Why don't you yourself go outside or whatever it is better to go to instead of whining about whining, abide your own advice. It's just basically customers complaining about the poor quality of their product purchased, you know. People have the right, perfectly.

Btw getting disconnected I lose my route plot destination every time. And getting discoed almost every jump and even if not doing anything I tend to get cut off after some time, maybe 15 mins tops. Of my clan I am even the only one bothering trying to play the game atm, and I can't blame them.

Death by update. What is going on? FDEV Just forgotten about basic debugging and leave things alone that are not broken? Another update in 15 minutes so I just shut the game down not risking another Matchmaker do dah! I have had enough of these Matchmaker crashes in one evening than forever! I do hope this latest update contains more than a one liner like the last one. Too much needs fixing. And exactly when is quality of life improvements supposed to be happening? Recipes in Tech Brokers asking us for stuff that is unobtainium rare. Utter waste of time at the present status.

You know, my theory is that after cashing in on the console sales, FD just dont want to put any more effort into ED. FD is a profit making enterprise and my guess is that the board want to kill ED simply because its not a big money maker compared to other stuff FD has in the hopper right now.
FD is trying to run us off. After the 10 year plan shtick and etc it would just be too embarassing to just axe ED and might even involve legal consequences given what they have said in public about the games future.
So rather than process all those refunds for people who bought in for the long term, they have just decided to patch the game to death and wait for us to leave.

I hope you are wrong. I thought all the other stuff was to fund Elite. Elite, as is now, is a game I never thought I would have the pleasure of playing. I still have to pinch myself when I realise how easily we take such wonder for granted.
BTW Fdev you dont need to have CMDRs walking about, Elite has already achieved it's cult status and in producing it you have all gone down in, a still developing, history. Atmospheric landing is still missing and once added there is still a lot of room for refinement. Elite does not have to compete with anything else as it is unique and stands in its own right.
SC might prove to be the Daddy but Elite will always be the Mother of all space sims.

Yes that is indeed very noticable in a lot of forum posts. If I talk to any of the commanders I know in the community (and those are quite a few) I notice a serious, committed and calm attitude. Also known as mature people. When I read the comments on patch notes like these I notice cynical, unfair and especially inmature remarks. That isn't to say this patch shouldn't be fixed timely, or that there are no remarks to give, but trying to stay fair and the manner how you say it is a very important point. A lack of empathy seems the main disease of these times.

When i buy something i expect it to work, ED isnt working lately. The bargain goes like this, i give the vendor my money and the vendor provides a good product and strives to make compentent, timely and commited efforts to maintain that product.

FD is certainly timely, 3 patches in about 3 weeks, where they are falling short is commitment and competence.

People have a right to be upset.

It isn't surprising though, the community by large do nothing but stroke their ego's. Criticisms are flamed and the Dev's get a free lunch at our expense.

I think alot of the so called white knights you see on the forums are FD paid employees. Its a tried and true PR/Marketing tactic called astroturfing. You may want to take at least some of those comments with a grain of salt.

Did just that as it happens - and managed to count the number of 112 deg down pipe connectors I needed to replace - Brucie bonus also placed an order for next day delivery. Fun to be had tomorrow :-D

This. I can savely say that in all my years of playing video games i totally had my fill on those ppl who think they are witty by playing the "do something else then computer gaming"-card. Srsly. It's getting old. No. It's GOTTEN old. A long time ago. And. Usually, people who are advising others to play less and go out more....are usually the ones who should follow their own advice the most. [/RANT end]

On topic: In a game, where getting killed can easily cost you several days work of insurance costs in order to rebuy your ship(Hello there, A-rated Cutter!), and regarding the issue, that a space station treats you as a loiterer in a matter of seconds if you dont move, which you cant, if you just got "disconnected" it is absolutely our right to ask ED to get their servers fixed. And asap at that. Tyvm ~

I think I will just wait it out until this latest error is fixed... Got fed up of being kicked out with the matchmaking server stuff.
Plus I am a third of the way into my longest mission journey and I would hate for my ship to spontaneously implode or something!

8 pages is not much tbh : this community is rather calm.
Soon, FD will fix this and we will move on. My advice : don't even try to bring reason to the frustrated players. Let them vent, show them some support even, and if the bugs get fixed reasonably quick, we'll be fine.
