Err, what exactly is that supposed to mean?

Also, first mapping names have now gone, as well as first discovery names.
e.g. see BD-12 1172

Disappointed! Most people like to see their name on things, it gives them a sense of accomplishment.
Changes like this should be put to the community as part of your UX process, or a more detailed explanation should be provided for changes like this.

I explored all those systems since 2014, and now the tags are gone. Gee, thanks, way to keep customers.
 
freezes are still present. FPS slightly improved during high bandwidth, but other than that...

It seems the freezes happen when getting "mission offers" while in open space or the chat trying to catch up. So maybe the issue is the dedicated mission and communication server implementation.
 
patch made keyboard non-responding issue worse

So... not sure what others are experiencing. I had the bug where if I did anything at all w/ the Codex, the keyboard would eventually stop responding. It was usually 10-20 minutes after using the Codex.

So I was pretty happy to see the patch today.

But I just got the same issue, without even using the Codex at all, after 5 minutes of gameplay. :-(

I hope someone can fix or make a work around. Before, it was just don't use the Codex (including don't look at the message when you've scanned a new discovery) and everything would work fine. Now, it's just happening.

Yes, it looks like you did solve the problem where ships would spawn in a CZ as clean.

However, you didn't fix the problem where SHIPS WON'T SPAWN IN A CZ.

We formed a wing dropped in 2 different CZs (Heget system) but ships aren't spawning.
 
VR Oculus

the left and right info screen are placed to close to each other
FPS sometimes drops extreme to like 10 fps
colors are really bad
graphics are even worse
and ofcourse the cd/dvd problem could be fixt in other games no problem only in elite kadangerous

fighter seems to be working now and no real problems with orders anymore so the modules seem to stay online and weapons not switched off

you may proceed to landing pad 8 :) :) nice but there is a ship on that pad
try to land and they begin with all kind of warnings about safety bla bla bla
the dolphin seems to had some traning and stand now straight up in the air on landing pads just to keep them ocupied

but atm the grapics/FPS are the biggest problem and we have to restart the game completely

thnx for the work looks nice and has some nice things added to the game
 
On the whole, I enjoy the FSS; I get the urge to "scan one more system" which I never had before.

I enjoy the new lighting, especially with the gamma turned down in VR.

The codex though is disappointing. I just don't see that it serves any useful purpose other than as an aid to sight-seeing.

Maybe this will improve over time but at present, the codex is, imo, rather pointless.

fingers crossed that this will make the intermittent freezes where the entire game locks for 30+ seconds, and then starts going again go away!
Yes this sort of thing has started happening to me too all too often. I thought it was my ISP but noooooo! Just another bug appeared in the game.
 
Well the conflict zones may be fixed if the clean issue but they still do tye following: not let you join a faction sometimes, not spawn any enemies, remove progress bars, when using select next hostile shows and ally despite them still being friendly and green.

My faction has 3 wars and this is a pain in the Asp.
 
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, I have grown to love Elite a lot, (and it is my first MMO of any note, that has captured me so!!) And learned to play it solely with the Thrustmaster HOTAS for PS4. One day, when I have a proper computer set up, I will play it as it aught to be played on its native platform.
Once again, a very grateful player who has been saved from bereftment!!

Removing the shortcut key bound to codex worked for me.

Although you don't hit the key, it still causes non-responsive keyboard when a key is bound.

Just remove it and access codex through right hand panel. At least it worked for me.[yesnod]

Clearly we play the game in different ways, and are motivated by different things. You will be able to continue to play your way, completely unaffected and yet you want others to be forced to change for no good reason other than not liking the way they (I) play.

The pre-3.3 discovery process does not take anything away from the post 3.3 one, the two can happily co-exist.

Riverside, i have read all your posts on this update patch thread, and you just do not get it man... they are not going to "change it back".. they are not going to just add in the older method just because you prefer the older mechanics of exploration over the new changes they've made... they are not going to change it back for you, they are not going to add in the older way and have them "co-exist" , it doesn't work that way man... you are being foolish and stubborn by expecting something them to change this, that will never happen... i'm sorry to be so negative to you about this, but you need .. to .. give .. it .. up .. dude ......
seriously, it's not going to change, no matter what you say, or do, it's not going to change back to the way it was just because you say "it shouldn't have been removed" and "i expect it to be in next patch" ... you are oblivious to the fact that your opinion does not matter, you think it does, but it doesn't... time to throw in the towel now son, it's been changed, you cannot do anything about it either.. it's over.

I'm not looking for anything to change, I'm looking to be able to continue to use an existing tool that did not need to be removed. Had it not been removed there would be no issue, there is only an issue now because needless work was done, and needs to be undone.

The AspS is generally regarded as a pointless ship. Should it be removed just because some don't like it & don't use it? What about those that do like & use it? It's already in the game, it works, it's presence affects no player that doesn't use it, just leave it in.

Same with the ADS.

43 jumps yesterday and no freezes and only one connection error. Things are getting better, the game is playable again. :)

I also managed to tweak my FSS key-binds a bit and I start to like the new mechanics. :)

Looking forward for further fixes.
 
....Lokking for 3.3.02, the.01 has more bugs not solved and new bugs addeded. The only bug solved is No clean ships in cz...but winging in CZ is almost impossible.... Made a better work next time...
 
Just got updated with the latest patch - 3.3.01 - and when I press "play" the button turns from light blue to dark blue as normal, but then I get an error message saying there is a missing file MSVCP140.dll and the game will not load. Any fixes for this?

In short: you're missing a part of the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable libraries. In theory, it should work /AFAIK) with 3.3.0.1 - I'd open/add to a corresponding ticket in the bug report forum, though, just to notify FD that this is still a problem.
