Update 5 clearly maked odyssey not fun and partly unoplayable (especially srv is hell now around settlements). Having heavy fps drops (60 to 20) during movement at ods settlements. Previously there was nothing like this, ultra settings and 35-40 fps smooth play on planets/settlements in 1080p.

I've only got a 1080p screen to test with, so that should really be the lowest common denominator.
I'd suggest doing the run on Fullscreen Ultra preset to get a worst case scenario.
Those with higher panels a run at 1080 and native (4k panels could run at 1440 too, if you're up for it) would give good indicators too.

I've actually started collating into a Excel sheet (I might have had too much time on my hands...) so happy to update with more accurate figures, and I think it would also be interesting to see the difference higher end cards are achieving at higher resolutions.

In ship above odyssey settlement during day time: 11! fps, zero speed, CPU and GPU both heavily underused ... (once I fly little further from settlement, I have mostly very stable 60 fps no matter how fast I fly close to surface). Really nice optimisation in Patch 5. In hangar on foot I have 60 fps stable, concourse 45-60 fps. (1080p resolution)

Same for me.

30 seconds of relative smooth play, then 15-20 of massive stuttering with fps ranging from 4 to 15, and during that time, GPU utilization goes almost down to zero. Happens regardless if on foot, on SRV or on low level flight above a settlement.

As soon as I go back to orbit in supercruise, my uncapped fps go straight to 110-120, all stutters gone.

HP Omen 17 Laptop with i7-7820HK - 32GB - GTX 1080 8GB @ 1440p.
 
Some settlements with update 5 went down hill as soon as it updated, Aria's Mine was fine in update 4, but the second it updated landing pad 2 area and the CMD building have constant fps drops down to 2fps, resulting in falling through the building.

FPS Ground is meant? ... I added my fps in free terrain, maybe add notes to some of that sheet columns may be good idea

.. and, 2anyone be sure you have vsync disabled, this makes fps drops much worse.
FPS Ground is really just for when you're on foot, but not anywhere special. I'll add notes at some point, but it's really just a little aid to spot any overly weird performance.

Thus bottlenecking the hell of the system while showing overall low utilization?

Maybe a CPU thread monitor is in order, with a before and after using the performance mod that turns off the shaders?

I've seen a few reports of significant performance improvements after disabling hyperthreading and possibly physical cores too, so there may well be something in the worker thread optimisation.
 
It does not work for me, I have given it a chance with the fear of possible ban, I know that it is possible that not and that if I spoke with frontier they would take it away because it would not make sense but that fear is that the game detects the .dll as Something bad, the case I am going to, it does not help me, since update 5 everything goes wrong even a space fight in a high intensity zone, where I lower the FPS to 50 and in horizon or U3 it went above 75 than It is the Hz of my monitor, they are supposed to have optimized something, but what? if it goes worse
 
After reading the road map. I saw it as the performance issue across all platforms will not be addressed until the two games are joined.
