A couple is two but sounds slightly less formal. Like two's cool twin brother that could turn up to party in a Hawaiian shirt and could turn up early or possibly even a little late. No one really knows for sure.

In short: Yeah we're estimating up to 2 hours. :)

Hi Zac! Can you please say how we'd expect to get the Rift working with ED ?

What I mean is that the Rift only displays stuff when you put it on, and then it automatically launches the Oculus Home app, effectively ignoring ED.

What's the process to work around that ? Thanks

New player minor factions are major update only, you will have to wait until 2.1, for example we changed our system description just after 2.0 and have been waiting for 2.0

That is incorrect...

They add them about every 2 months and last added some at the end of January (which was not a major update), so it's more than likely to be this time.

10% refuel... why? fuel too costly? lol

Try flying a ship with a 64 tonne tank (or extra tanks) Accurate refueling is all about weight saving for better jump performance and speed/maneuverability in normal space .

Does anyone know if this update means I can download and install the oculus SDK 0.8? Does this also give us back IPD adjustment?

Cheers

Great news on the VR updates looking forward to seeing the changes

Have any of the Windows 10 DK2ers anything to report? Have we got a Direct HMD Access Mode? Have you noticed any improvement in the headsets performance?

Great news about the update by the way. It's much appreciated.

Actually, (and speculation on my part) the patch notes indicate that the updated client was built against the 1.3 SDK. VR may be completely broken/unavailable until the Oculus 1.3 runtime is installed. And that isn't scheduled to be available until Monday.

Edit: No VR with the DK2 until the 1.3 runtime is installed: https://twitter.com/Frontier_Help/status/712954917535805440 "@LToftdal @tentacode Today's release is for the 1.3 Oculus SDK, and there are no known work arounds for the DK2 at this time. -CMDR Ares"

Has the galaxy map been fixed to take partially filled tanks into account? Last time I tried it would never calculate jumps distances that can't be done with all the fuel tanks full.
(Also, I am having trouble using the FSD boost tickbox, or game me is too dense to get it, but that's a different story).

Still nothing...fine day to book off work and have a few hours of ED...DOH!

I know. We need some proper notice for these updates. They say "a couple more hours" like its nothing, a couple hours is all the spare time some people get. I hate this "always online" requirement in games these days.

ED has worked with 0.8 for a little while now, but like in my previous post I find the performance is not quite as good, you may find stations get choppy with 0.8 using the same graphics settings you use for 0.5

I rather play EvE then ever play that dreadful wannabe Star Trek game, what a waste of time that was, money grabbing PWE destroyed that game since 2012.

That would seem strange, they have DK2's in the office, surely they have been using them on 0.8 to test the latest updates and fixes. It seems more like they are adding support for the release SDK, backwards compatibility should be ok
