I'm eagerly looking forward to FC interiors so that I may watch the jump from the Captain's Lounge with a friend who hasn't too much time left.
O7,

O7,

I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah that will be fun to be able to see that though.. What carrier do you have? Mine is the Nautilus class so my view will be from near the front.I'm eagerly looking forward to FC interiors so that I may watch the jump from the Captain's Lounge with a friend who hasn't too much time left.

I certainly do not relish bringing them down if that's what you're implying? I've invested in a lot in playing this game that I love. But I am entitled to comment on their apparent lack of any discernable interest to it's customers an I not?I have never wondered why I bother with the game, I love playing it.
Some of the stuff they introduce I don’t like as much, no I am not talking about bugs, but I get used to it or ignore it and carry on playing.
I do sometimes wonder about the people here who seem to relish talking the game and company down.
I quite like the view we saw over the landing pads with the other class of carrier. But I guess with the Nautilus class we'll be closer to the action when it comes to the jump sequenceI have one of each.
Luckily (in a really sarcastic way) the Nautilus is the carrier owned by my XB account - so for the moment i'm not exactly worried about the view (however, if i could get my PC accounts to disembark in it, that would change things a bit)
I prefer the standard carrier. I don't need to be a couple hundred meters "closer" when I'm jumping 500 LYs.I quite like the view we saw over the landing pads with the other class of carrier. But I guess with the Nautilus class we'll be closer to the action when it comes to the jump sequence![]()
Ha ha fair enoughI prefer the standard carrier. I don't need to be a couple hundred meters "closer" when I'm jumping 500 LYs.![]()
But on the big screen! I'll probably have to enforce a strict 'no phones or talking during the jump' policy in the audience. So many people looking forward to seeing a megaship jump when it's very likely the view will be exactly the same one you see in your ship when jumping ...aside from immediate entering and exiting.
This has to be my favourite post of the day!We already have some pre-outrage going on! Just getting warmed up lol
It's pretty common for businesses to try and build excitement around some kind of update. Apple doesn't just nonchalantly release new iPhones each year. If Frontier is excited to introduce fleet carrier interiors, they're not showing it.Maybe it's just me but I don't look to other people to tell me what to get excited about, or not.

Yes, I understand, it's marketing 101. But it still doesn't change my point, the big marketing push would have been for the initial release rather than an update. But it is, yet again, damned if you do, damned if you don't, as apparantly Hello Games is totally silent until dropping an update and according to some, that's the gold standard of how FDev should be.It's pretty common for businesses to try and build excitement around some kind of update. I'd say the difference with HG is that they do hype up new updates in a pretty creative way. Sean Murray tweets an emoji and the community the streamers build up the hype themselves trying to figure out what the emoji means in regards to the upcoming update. It's not until after the update drops that anyone really knows what it is, but there's still hype being built up everytime he tweets an emoji.Yes, I understand, it's marketing 101. Pretty cool, though I can certainly see how that would work, or not, for FDevI'd say the difference with HG is that they do hype up new updates in a pretty creative way. Well it looks very different from the outside, AFAIK it uses a different hyperspace technology as it also doesn't have to faceplant into a sun and can jump directly to a target body. I seem to remember it having a name but forget the details, something like a Macsomething transition or something similar. Of course it might be that we get the well known witchspace tunnel, or maybe all witchspace looks the same..So many people looking forward to seeing a megaship jump when it's very likely the view will be exactly the same one you see in your ship when jumping ...aside from immediate entering and exiting.

Time will tell, hopefully u11 will be on time, and we'll know tomorrow.
Unless, of course, the shutters close during the jump itselfConsidering the time to traverse is roughly the same and what's been stated back in launch days still being true, the travel should look the same.
It's the same jump technology used ...the difference in external behavior of low jumping, high jumping and mega ship jumping has only to do with the scale of power involved in opening hyperspace for the ship in question and the speed in question.
Older mega ships used to jump with different engines and traverse hyperspace differently (just like older normal ships used to have different means of traversing hyperspace) ..but if the lore has not been retconned, then the modern mega ships use the same jump tech our smaller ships do...just at a much larger scale.
The star at the end of the tunnel ...might differ but i would expect the rest to be the same. It'd be interesting if it wasn't... but there's no reason to think it will be based on what's been stated.
(this was all debated and discussed back in the day when the first cap ships were shown to jump in thru a tear in space rather the same jump cloud effect smaller ships did)
