It is unfortunate how remlok Megadrive (tm) tech, while practical to transfer an individual and small amount of data/mats, has an scaling energy demand so dramatic that beyond the escape-pod scale, only ships as large as capital ships, (such as fleet carriers) can carry the required power to instantly transport themselves theoretically anywhere. Some data is lost for the Remlok user, but essential research & collection for engineering usage is retained, thankfully. There is a trade-off here however, due to the energy demand scaling, so whatever can be sacrificed, is, for the safety of the user. Naturally personally-collected bounties, stored in a ship's computer are lost. However the bounties stored by Galcop, are not mysteriously wiped by an individuals ship being destroyed. That would just be weird.
Its quite easy to RP it out if u want to. & if you dont want to, then why worry about little inconsistencies in the first place? Its just a game, right?
Well since it's just a game, correct, none of the stuff above is true since it's all just code.
However, you may be onto something here. Maybe increasing transfer times & costs for solo users would be part of a reasonable compromise solution for allowing them to continue interfering in multiplayer activities (powerplay). Its a bit like playing capture the flag. Some people decide they dont like having other people trying to stop them, so they opt to remove them from the playing field, while still affecting the main game everyone else is still playing. Well, apparently thats ok, so to offset the issue that it is a ridiculous exploit, have the person in solo literally chained to the ground. so they cant move. that way they cant mysteriously pinch the flag & capture it without anyone being able to see them do it.
