Vanguards / Squadron rework screencaps from stream......

The most successful games of the recent past have been single player or multi-player co-op games. I feel the game has been on a competitive bent for years; they keep making content for it. Even now Frontier laments the lack of conflict in PP. 🤷‍♂️
That's what happens when players do an activity for the "care packages" and other hygeine factors, instead of for any motivation to do the activity itself.

One day FD will realise that they need to incentivise crime, and make interesting activities from the mechanics they have, instead of going for "the next big killer feature".

Yea. I also like the simply requirement of having a certain number of active members. Alternatives could be to require three person or more to at the same time man different stations when jumping. (At the same time as: at the same time. Not run from one station to another within a minute to hit all switches. ) Or requires 90 hours of active gameplay (with idle-detection, so not sitting AFK somewhere) per week to be useable.

I'm not in favor of requiring active members, because many ED players take long breaks between updates. For example if only 2 of 10 members are active, those 2 members must somehow pay the upkeep fee. The inactive players can be a member of only 1 squadron at a time. If they buy extra accounts that doesn't really matter, because it's more game sales for Fdev.

Release a portable backend (k8s setup we can throw on a linux box for the services and dbs) for like 60 bucks with some modding tools ...all tied to your account so it can't be redistributed... Then everyone can do their own thing who wants to. Finally peace in the elite playerbase...for then and any future updates. Fdev would have to really try to add content that upsets people unless nobody wants it at all (cqc)

Hi :)
The logo designer would want to have a whole lot more options than we see in the WIP... or better still, allow uploading - and reporting - custom logos.
I agree, it's something I wish Frontier would implement, but within certain parameters...

However, if they don't allow uploading custom logos, they save themselves a bunch of worries.
Perhaps the worry side could be diluted if Frontier supply their own designed or copyrighted 'clip art', from simple shapes (as is shown) to more intricate and varied icon content.
The finished design could quite possibly be unique to that player (or a squadron of several players). I'm thinking along the lines of maybe hundreds if not thousands of various categories of pre designated decal / clip art, covering various shapes objects and themes.

Finished Icons could then be used for individual ships, player owned stations maybe used for interior work in some instances. Colours could be supplied over a wide spectrum.
Black to white, RGB variations, golds metallics and others etc.

Oh!...and for Vanguards / squadrons too! :D

Edit...⚙️...Perhaps a new type of engineer! ...'Graphical Sign Writers Guild'. :D

Jack :)

I have three accounts. But, there is only one at a time that I can be on. Time is the most precious commodity. And only the main account gets ARX to spend.

I'm on a Discord that is considering one of the new SFC's. It's more likely for me to join up, rather than solo my own squadron. Getting my own fleet carrier might fit in, because I can be someplace else doing work for the squadron. But loading/offloading is work for a team, as recent colonization has shown. So, the SFC model might prevail.

I can do you one better. 4 people in my long playing group are also original Elite fans and everyone else has petered (extra funny because one of them is named Peter) off because of the stale content. I'm the only one hanging on and the only thing I do is now ground CZs. I didn't even have to buy them copies of the game; they were KS backers. :p

That's exactly what original FCs were going to be until someone pointed out the folly. And tbh I find most of their content exclusionary in some way.
Frontier has always had a dream of attracting a younger playerbase with MMO play. We've seen how that has worked out... :(
