Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Now that I have a bigger ship I'm wondering what to do with my T-7. I'm of hoarding nature so I don't want to just sell it of course.

Do you think it can do a good role as a passenger ship? Mining ship? No exploration, I've too many of those already...

Passenger ship!
Plenty of slots, decent jump range.[yesnod]

I do read from time-to-time in other places that the game is “dead”.

Rumours of its demise seem highly exaggerated ;)

And after the years I have been reading them incredibly booring.

Currently I have stopped off at a system part way to one of the destinations reccomended elsewhere as I have found an unmapped and only partially discovered system where I am intending to map it all and collect lots of elements. So far I have mapped 2 landable High Metal Content worlds plus the moon of the second, on the first there were 21 Geological locations of 2 types. I am currently on the moon which is also rich in geological locations, sadly not found a new type yet but I have found my first Tin since the new systems came on line. I might be here some time.

Not mining as it has no size 2 hard points.

Keep it for jobs with a high chance of interdiction attempts as it is one of the best at avoiding them.

Or you could use it for core mining. I only flew it a couple of times, but it's got that strange feature of yawing as good as it pitches, which makes it quite maneuverable. Also it's got plenty of room, so you can mine till you drop, without having to go back and sell stuff to free cargo space. Be aware, that a load of opals or whatever, will attract pirates at the selling station, but you should be able to avoid interdictions because the NPC pirates doesn't have AI but AS (artificial stupidity). Just look at them spawning at a Haz RES right in front of a fleet of federal security Condas. They don't seem to learn much. :O

Edit: Regarding hard points. Missed that. I think you minimum need one medium sized slot for the seismic charges.

Edit edit: I was watching this the other day. Maybe you could outfit your T7 for something like that?

Can't use it for core explody mining, it's only got small hardpoints.:(

T-7 makes a very viable rescue ship.loaded with meds inbound to rescue ship, then kit Ecabins for extraction or fit a limpet controller. It gets hot so plenty of heat-sinks required, but it pays for itself in no time.

Saying about an emergency and evacuation craft that "it paid for itself in no time" somehow feels wrong.
Maybe that's just me. :)

About AS, my favorite is:

*Me fuel scooping*
*1 new contact*
Pirate: The rumor was right... good job I found you first (sic)"
"I keep scooping near the star"
*A square crosses the radar and disappears behind me*
"1 contact lost"
*Keep sccoping*

COVAS Eden.

I'm trying to place the accent but can't. Any ideas? It's a very subtle one.

She needs a tweak or two though as sometimes she sounds a little too "rushed". My fave is still Celeste I think.

Edit:

I'm also seeing more follow on missions. I'm pondering whether these should offer greater rewards or not is a good idea. On a personal level, they should: give me loads of cash so I can increase my balance and trade rank :D. However, I understand that earning over 1m for shifting a paltry 3 units is a more than fair return. Ah, the things that pop into my head at 5AM... ha!

OK, fourm's not dead. Seemed a slower pace, but not one to insinuate anything :D

Anyway, finally got there after three years of stop-start play.

Combat and Trade are both on the final rung, so triple Elite is now the goal. Good luck with that eh?

Make room at the Founder's World bar would ya?

At the moment getting ubber bored discovering/mapping planets on my way back to the bubble from Colonia...
383 jumps to go to the nearest station, and so much stuff interesting popping up that i cant help myself, im getting addicted to tagging stuff!
But cant complain too much, at 100 million or more in each stop i make in a station along the way, my credit is going up pretty quick.

Will make a break from exploring when i finally make it to the bubble, and work on some other things, got alot to do anyway, and by this rate i can if i want to rebuy some of the ships i sold previously and set them for other tasks probrably will be what i am going to do.

There are four (I think) "waypoint bases" between the bubble and Colonia and a couple of asteroid stations. Some at very nice places.
..just if you need a break from jumping or off-load your data to ease your mind. :)

I just made Rear Admiral last night running missions out of Abraham Lincoln in Sol. Now I need to make a lot of credits to actually afford a properly outfitted Corvette. I'm trying to decide if I want to try out mining, since the the Deep Core mining seems to be so lucrative, or if I should head out for some exploration in my Asp Explorer after doing some engineering on the FSD. Decisions, Decisions.
