Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Holy threadanaut, Batman! I just twigged we're four years old - a week ago! I missed that particular milestone :LOL:
That's pretty cool. I was here from almost the beginning, just 1 month. I was posting screenshots, can you imagine?

Thats okay, I don’t view it as my system…I’m just using it to experiment with the BGS and learn as best I can. It’s incredibly quiet here and makes it quite easy to see, generally speaking, the effects of your actions.

I‘m close to achieving my initial goals but had thought about trying to cherry pick a nearby faction to fill the space created and expanding into another system…but then I’m concerned I’ll never leave this little segment of space. I‘m still surprised at quite how much I’ve enjoyed playing with the BGS, it just seemed so dry before I gave it a go.
I've enjoyed seizing control of a planet surface station from a bunch of anarchist pirates in one of my factions systems in recent weeks. My second commander who does "black operations" stuff worked for the pirates to built their influence to create a war with my faction, then Quain stomped on them in CZs and restored my faction's influence. There was a role playing story telling reason to do it.
I'm not so keen on doing the same in another system where an outpost is held by a peaceful democracy.
You end up doing some mission types you might not otherwise bother with.

Hopefully U14 will give me some incentive reason to upgrade/engineer ANY of my on foot gear...
I love the on foot stuff now. When it first came along, I was not keen - especially where combat was involved: I was hopeless. Seriously bad. But after a while, well... now I am a minister of death, praying for war. *

CZ's are a bit intense though... but fun if I've had enough tea.

I ought to do vid of a scav elimination...

* EDIT My avatar shows my war face.

I can usually beat High ground CZs in G3 as purchased gear. I die a lot and have loads of fun doing it.

Today was just more icy worlds with more Fonticula Campestris, so nothing rare. The worlds were fun to walk on, though -- very low gravity. I have Improved Jump Assist so on these worlds I can stay airborne for quite a while. I feel like a real spaceman :)

At least the Fonticula were easy to spot. Argon atmospheres, today, all of them.

And my favorite rock made a few appearances, to bring cheer and joy to my day. :)
