I don't even know how to use it.I also don't know my way around the on foot wheel menu.

You can find them by going to a public terminal, all bases have one or two. Then just look them up in the Staff section and mark them. Then you'll have a pointer on your HUD to their location. There is no mission marker to follow that I could see.
Hold Q by default.I don't even know how to use it.
Huh?I'm (still) a n00b and proud of it!

It's so hard to find planets or moons with both geology and biology (those are my favorite), when I do there's one or two bio signs at most and crystal mats give rarer harder-to-find mats in my limited experience. There's 1-2 fruits per tree that look very out of placeSometimes they get stuck in the branches, but it's possible to just go jump on them and they'll fall out.
Oh yeah, I know there are more efficient ways of making money. Laser mining is just too boring for me nowadays. I just came back from a year long exploration trip, so wanted something a little bit more involved.VO's and Alex seem to give a healthy income - if you can get enough of them!
For me, and I appreciate I have the tools so probably not something a newcomer can do, farming platinum is my main source of income should I choose. I can get ~300mCR selling just over 1,000 per mining excursion.
I used to make 10's of millions doing cargo hauling missions but they seem to have been nerfed somewhat the last time I looked.
Still, as has been said, getting 100's of millions is still fairly easy and pretty necessary if one wants to own and pay UC on an FC! On foot mission rewards won't cut it...

Thanks. I drove around in the SRV until I found the right person with the marker over their head. I'll look for a terminal next time I try.You can find them by going to a public terminal, all bases have one or two. Then just look them up in the Staff section and mark them. Or just look around. They have an icon over their head.
I found some of these once, a combo fumarole and plant. They are called Fumerola Nitris. There were also normal fumaroles on the planet as I recall.I have found just 2 atmospheric bio+geo worlds to date, both of them were just bacteria.
