Don't know about how many, but I do know the one thing that sells faster than Modular Terminals off a fleet carrier is the caustic tissue samples needed to unlock the caustic sink launcher.

Yeah, it's rather a drag that it's all locked behind such a huge grind. It'll keep me from playing it.

I was floundering last week, trying to figure out what to do. Somehow, I've now convinced myself that I really want to see inside the Maelstroms...

I know I'm getting close to civilization, 6 escape pods, I guess I could sell them to Dorn. 6 jumps out now, 325Ly to home at Jaques Station.
I went to a second distress beacon and there's 4 skimmers. If I destroy them and take the goods will I get a bounty?

About the same, it's called a Viper, saw it in the contacts panel. It took out my shields pretty fast, I could out-range it so I backed up. I picked up a lot of good stuff including a couple of data cores I had to cut out.

You should as there are lots of good mats, I just left the life pods behind incase I get interdicted.

It’s a skimmer variant, more of a smart mine really - it will attempt to detonate near you if you’ve breached a cordon and/or assaulted other sentries - can’t do much to a well-shielded ship, but will knock out an SRV if close enough… jump well away if it’s beeping irritably and you’re on foot - that one looks like it’s getting a bit hot under the collar ;]
only if they are wanted skimmers, normal skimmers will not give you bounties, but a fine.
like everybody else i do a lot of distress signals, but only see one of those. Most are just the normal small class wanted skimmers. The bigger one usally protected military installations (goliaths) i think they called.
i remove the ship kit has i was told it seems to attracted more thargoid weapons than normal shippping without one,let not give the thargs a bigger target

I wasn't sure what they were (there were two actually), I landed the ship 30 meters from the boundary and it turned red and seemed fixated on the ship. Every time I fired on it, it fired on my ship. It was guarding lots of good stuff, heat vanes, phase alloys and the ships data core plus life pods. When I cut it open (data core) there were 4 other items in there but I can't remember what they were exactly.
It was firing back? Mebbe it is something new then - normally just the regular dual-fan "winged" skimmers open fire, though these are just mines usually.
Heck, I don't remember exactly, I had to back away because I lost my shields on my SRV. I could see the shields on my ship lighting up so I figured it was firing at my ship. You're probably right, it's just a flying mine, I just kept thinking about why they were there and what they were guarding. I do remember lots of containers of personal weapons and narcotics in addition to what I took.
I can't ever remember so many Baluga carcasses floating around inside Jaques Station, must be having mail slot issue's.
mail slot issues have been pretty common in general lately, IIRC...
I've been gone a while (10 months), auto launch is a joke and dangerous, I turned it off. It scared the crap out of me, I don't remember it being this bad.
